
Multi vehicle crash in Sauk County leads to fatality
Upon arrival, Deputies observed four involved vehicles.
SAUK COUNTY, Wis (CIVIC MEDIA) – A multi vehicle crash in Sauk County resulted in a fatality and multiple injuries.
Monday night around 6:30p the Sauk County Communications Center received multiple 911 calls about a traffic accident on Highway 33 near the intersection of Man Mound Road in the Township of Greenfield.
Upon arrival, Deputies observed four involved vehicles. Baraboo Fire and EMS began treating patients and one was transported by UW-Med Flight to a Madison area hospital. Three other occupants were transported by ambulance to nearby hospitals.
It was learned a sedan that was traveling eastbound crossed the centerline. Another vehicle swerved to miss the sedan and struck another vehicle traveling west bound, the two vehicles collided, and the sedan continued. The sedan then struck another vehicle traveling west bound head on. The operator of the vehicle struck by the sedan was taken by UW-Med Flight and the driver of the sedan, a 31 year old male from the Portage area, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld pending the notification of family.
