
Stranded vehicle leads to Iowa County arrests
During the course of rendering aid, deputies became aware of several violations of Wisconsin state law, and both subjects were taken into custody.
IOWA COUNTY, Wis. (WRCO / WRCE) – An Iowa County Communications Center report of a motorist in need led to the arrests of two individuals Friday morning.
On August 22 at around 1:46 a.m., Iowa County Communications Center received a report of a motorist in need of assistance on US Highway 151 near County Road A in Mineral Point Township.
The caller reported seeing a van on the side of the road with the hood up and the sliding door open, and a male subject standing dangerously close to the roadway attempting to flag down vehicles. Multiple Iowa County Sheriff’s Office units responded to the scene and made contact with the driver and one passenger, who stated that the vehicle had exhausted its fuel supply.
During the course of rendering aid, deputies became aware of several violations of Wisconsin state law, and both subjects were taken into custody.
Matthew E W Jensen, age 42, was arrested for:
• Possession of Methamphetamine (Felony)
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia to Manufacture, Compound, Convert, Produce, or Store Methamphetamine (Felony)
• Probation Violation (Wisconsin DOC)
Amadeus S Toney, age 31, was arrested for:
• Probation Violation (Wisconsin DOC)
Both subjects were transported to the Iowa County Jail and booked on their charges.
Matthew Jensen has since been released on bond, and both subjects have been transferred to the care of the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, where they remain in custody at the Grant County Jail on their probation violations.
