MILWAUKEE, Wis (Civic Media) — Marcus Theatres is honoring Wisconsin’s beloved Bob Uecker with a week-long screening of the 1989 comedy classic “Major League” from Jan. 24-30. The tribute comes after Uecker, known affectionately as “Mr. Baseball,” died of cancer last week at age 90.

Uecker portrays Harry Doyle, the Cleveland Indians’ play-by-play announcer, in the film shot at Milwaukee County Stadium.

Moviegoers can catch the show for a special admission of $5.40, commemorating Uecker’s 54 years as the radio voice of the Milwaukee Brewers.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Milwaukee Brewers Foundation.

The screenings will take place at multiple Marcus Theatres locations across Wisconsin.
