Gov. Tony Evers’ office today announced details for the upcoming speeches for the State of the State Address and Biennial Budget Message.

The State of the State Address will be held Wednesday, Jan. 22, in the Assembly Chambers of the Wisconsin State Capitol.

Per the governor’s press release, Evers is planning to “lay out the state’s policy priorities for the next year,” which includes “lowering out-of-pocket costs for working Wisconsinites and families; supporting kids and public schools; bolstering efforts to keep our kids, schools, streets, and communities safe; expanding access to mental and behavioral healthcare; addressing the state’s looming child care crisis; and building an economy that works for everyone.”

Details on the Republican response to the Democratic governor’s address have not yet been announced.

Civic Media will be providing special coverage of the State of the State Address, airing the speech live across the network with pre- and post-speech coverage featuring anchors Todd Allbaugh and Pat Kreitlow, Political Editor Dan Shafer, and reporters Lisa Hale and James Kelly.
