Actor Adam Brody’s Real-life Election Role Reconnects Him to Wisconsin  

The OC star joins Nite Lite with Pete Schwaba to discuss how a political passion leads to canvassing across the state

The OC star joins Nite Lite with Pete Schwaba to discuss how a political passion leads to canvassing across the state

Actor Adam Brody may be best known for his breakout role on The OC. But Brody continues to diversify his showbiz resume with projects like Promising Young Woman and the Netflix series Nobody Wants This  He also recently took on a real-life election role by canvassing in Wisconsin. Brody has a personal connection to the state. He hosted his wedding in Wisconsin and his brother attended UW.. He joined Nite Lite with Pete Schwaba to talk about combining entertainment with his political journey.

It sometimes felt like a bit of a support group for civic-minded citizens as we all rallied to get out the vote.

“Wisconsinites’ enthusiasm offset some of the challenges of canvassing,” Brody says. “It sometimes felt like a bit of a support group for civic-minded citizens as we all rallied to get out the vote.”

And while talking about his experiences in other states like Pennsylvania, Brody believes there’s a universal energy around this election. 

“It’s very heartening to see so many committed people,” he explains.

Turns out, Schwaba is a longtime fan and asks about his entertainment career. Brody shares insight about his roles in Promising Young Woman and his current project, Nobody Wants This. The two laugh as Schwaba points out Brody’s early days on Gilmore Girls and the question of whether he’d ever called a blazer a sport coat.

There’s also more heartfelt advice for Wisconsin voters. 

“Vote early. Don’t leave it to chance on Election Day,” Brody says. “This is the most pivotal election of our time. And you’ll remember it for the rest of your life.”
