MILWAUKEE (Civic Media) – Former Republican presidential candidates and Wisconsin U.S. Senate candidate Eric Hovde are among the speakers scheduled for Tuesday at the Republican National Convention.
The list also includes several Republican politicians and other prominent conservative figures.
Some of the former presidential candidates set to speak Tuesday include Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, and Vivek Ramaswamy.
In addition to Hovde, Wisconsin native Reince Priebus, who chairs the RNC host committee, will also have a speaking slot.
On Monday, Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson was one of the first people to speak at the RNC.
Others who spoke Monday included Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, and RNC chair Michael Whatley.
Also on Monday, Donald Trump announced Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance as his running mate. Trump was officially nominated as the Republican presidential candidate by the RNC. The nomination came just two days after an apparent assassination attempt of Trump in western Pennsylvania.
Around the convention, there were some protestors, but overall, the event was secure and problem-free. Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson said that only three people were arrested and all were outside of the RNC’s secure area. Nobody was reported hurt by any convention or protest activities.
Here is a list of people expected to speak Tuesday at the RNC, according to the RNC Committee on Arrangements.
