The Indigenous Peoples Day holiday is still relatively new to many Americans, so we’ll talk about the history of the holiday and the opportunities to learn more about our tribal communities, whose challenges and gifts are often invisible to the rest of the country.
Motherhood for good
Kate Duffy and Erin Phillips organized Moms for Mandela after the horrific shooting in Uvalde Texas. It was time to get involved if they were going to keep their children safe. Within a few months they had more than 1000 followers on Instagram. After Mandela lost they transformed to Motherhood for Good and today they have more than 11,000 followers. But the more troubling “canaries in the coal mine” take the form of teachers leaving the district because education is being replaced with right-wing indoctrination. We’ll talk to one of them.
