Jim Santelle

Pardon Politics (Hour 2)

December 12, 2024

Jim Santelle cohosts today. Continuing the conversation from last hour, Dom and Jim address the additional 10 charges levied against Wisconsin's slate of fake electors. While many see these additional 10 charges as justice long delayed finally reaching a mark, Jim takes a different view. The two then move to discussing Presidential pardons. Today, President Joe Biden announced pardons 39 people and commuted the sentences of another 1500, a one-day record. In addition to these 1500 commutations and pardons, Biden is reportedly considering preemptive pardons for those who Trump threatens with legal persecution.

Conduct and Conspiracy(Hour 1)

December 12, 2024

Jim Santelle cohosts today to tackle trending legal news. Dom and Jim begin the show addressing Christopher Wray's impending resignation at the end of the Biden administration. Is this the right move to preserve the independence of the FBI and DoJ from the White House? Probably, almost certainly, definitely not. At the bottom of the hour, the two address the report today that no undercover FBI agents participated in the January 6th, 2021 attack on the Capitol. Yet again, no one forced or coerced the rioters to riot. Dom and Jim return to Wisconsin news at the very end of the hour to preview next episode's coverage of the additional charges levied against Wisconsin's fake 2020 electors.

Any Green Shoots? (Hour 2)

December 6, 2024

We’ll ask Congressman Mark Pocan if there are any signs of “green shoots” in the upcoming new session Congress, little signs that some kind of bipartisan action could sprout amidst a desert of Republican infighting and obstruction. And we’ll have former US Attorney Jim Santelle on how Donald Trump’s picks for top law enforcement posts will damage an independent judiciary.

Gaetz Out, Bondi Just as Bad (Hour 2)

November 22, 2024

We’ll talk to former US Attorney Jim Santelle about President-elect Trump’s new choice to be Attorney General, now that Matt Gaetz has withdrawn his nomination. Pam Bondi, the former Florida attorney general, is no better—having torpedoed one investigation of Trump, Inc. fraud and becoming one of his superspreaders of the 2020 Big Lie.

Don’t delay it, don’t deny it, just DO justice! (Hour 2)

November 21, 2024

Jim Santelle cohosts today to cover legal matters in the news with Dom. First up, an update on Trump's pending cases. In New York, Judge Juan Merchan weighs whether to freeze or dismiss the case against Trump. To refresh your memories, this is the case in which President-elect Trump has already been CONVICTED on 34 felony counts for financial crimes.

And what about that Oklahoma case with Ryan Walters mandating Bibles in every classroom? Is that legally sound? Well, shockingly, no. No, it's not.

Gaetz Days a Week (Hour 1)

November 21, 2024

Jim Santelle cohosting today as a new unit of time just dropped! You can now measure time by 8-day units as a "Gaetz". This, of course, in honor of the length of Matt Gaetz' time as nominee for Attorney General of the United States. Today, just 8 short days after being named as Trump's nominee for the position, Gaetz' withdrew his name from consideration.

So who will Trump pick next to lead the Department of Justice? Perhaps a former Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice with 10 counts of violations of the state's attorney code of conduct? As Jim says in regard to the complain filed against Mike Gableman here, "everything is wrong about this."

Concepts of qualified nominations (Hour 2)

November 15, 2024

Jim Santelle cohosts for the day.

In the 9 days since being called the winner of the Presidential election, Donald Trump's nominations for Cabinet hit new lows for qualification. Among them, Matt Gaetz for Attorney General. Yes, that Matt Gaetz who has been under House investigation for sex trafficking, among other allegations. The same Matt Gaetz who called for the abolishment of the DoJ, which he would lead as AG.

Ignorance is the worst excuse (Hour 1)

November 15, 2024

Jim Santelle cohosts for the day.

Amidst all the chaos, there's some good news. The people, despite the enormously hot temperature of national politics, want civility. And at a townhall event in La Follette, WI, 400 Wisconsinites practiced it.

In all of this week's finger pointing of who to blame for Trump's electoral win, we miss the biggest target. The people who voted for Trump. Because they believed his lies. Because they were hurting economically and wanted change. Because they were ignorant. And that's just the worst excuse of all.
