For this week's best-of, we're revisiting the second hour of Thursday's show: Make Every Day Count.
Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have two months and change remaining in their administration. So what should they do with this time? What guardrails can they install in these final weeks to protect our republic from the incoming group. Jim Santelle brings legal guidance for what reasonable steps our current administration could take. He also provides some clarity on the pending cases against President-elect Trump, who will face sentencing in just under three weeks. Unless it all gets thrown out...
In addition, we continue to process the loss of the presidency with our audience.

Jim Santelle, former US Attorney and host of the Civic Media Saturday radio show Amicus, joins Dom for the day.
Picking up some trending news in this hour, Jim and Dom address Trump's lawsuit against CBS. Plus, threats to voting abound in Pennsylvania. Finally, young women are re-discovering Trump's appalling boasting about sexual assault on Access Hollywood.

Democracy Needs YOU (Hour 1)
Jim Santelle, former US Attorney and host of the Civic Media Saturday radio show Amicus, joins Dom for the day. In this hour, Jim and Dom discuss Trump's statement last night that Liz Cheney should have guns pointed at her face. It's alarming to say the least, and the latest in a string of escalating violent rhetoric. The two also discuss Trump's Project 2025 plans to purge civil servants who are not loyal to his administration, should he be re-elected. Jim strongly supports civil service. In fact, he advocates for us all to serve a bit of time working for the public.

Trash Talk. Trashy Coverage. (Hour 2)
The former president is calling our country a garbage can and threatening to jail his critics. His Speaker of the House called again for taking away health care from millions of Americans. But the national media has spent the week going after President Biden for a snide remark about a trash-talking comedian. We’ll talk to Mark Jacob about this week’s press coverage. Plus, what’s next on Donald Trump’s legal calendar if he loses next week and can’t rely on presidential pardon power to be a potential “Get Out of Jail Free” card?

Tough to Fire the Publisher (Hour 2)

The Skinny On The Law
In hour two, News Director Terry Bell joins us for today's Big Story: a rise in gun deaths in Wisconsin. We also get the scoop from Terry on the first day of early voting in the state, before talking more about Trump's work-for-show at McDonald's. Brittney Merlot makes her daily appearance for a local and interplanetary weather update, and later, the guys are joined by attorney and host of Amicus: A Law Review, Jim Santelle. He, John, and Gordy chat about the idea of a unitary executive, or a president with unchecked power, as well as Schedule F of Project 2025, which would classify civil servants as partisan positions, and allow the president to essentially fire them all, and appoint whoever they want. After the break, we also ask Jim about some of the electoral shenanigans that may go on in the event that neither candidate gets 270 votes.

Let’s Talk About the F-Word (2nd Hour)
We kick off the hour with a meteorology update from Civic Media's Brittney Merlot and then we hear from host of Amicus, Jim Santelle. Jim shares a bit about what he is going to be talking about on his weekend legal show, this Saturday at 9:00am, and Pat asks some questions about the legal landscape.
Then, some conservatives love to throw around slurs like “Communist!” and “Socialist!” in a way that gives the impression (or provides evidence) that they don’t know what the words actually mean. Progressives, on the other hand, are well aware of how to describe Fascism but are only recently using the word more publicly because Donald Trump’s rhetoric creeps closer to matching it. We’ll talk to Mark Jacob about news coverage of Trump’s danger to democracy.
