MILWAUKEE, Wis (Civic Media) – The Miller strike is over.  Workers at the Miller Brewery in Milwaukee have stopped their week-long strike after finalizing a new contract with Molson Coors, union representatives announced.

The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, which represents mechanics and machine repair staff at the brewery, had pushed for wage increases.

The statement from the Wisconsin AFL-CIO noted that the new agreement “protects work-life balance and includes a family-sustaining wage increase.”

IAM District 10’s Directing Business Representative Alex Hoekstra lauded the contract as “much improved” in a Facebook post, praising the strong solidarity demonstrated by workers during the strike.

Adam Collins, Molson Coors’ chief communications officer says in a statement they’ve worked out a 3 year deal. “The contract is fair to our valued team members and ensures that jobs in our Milwaukee Brewery remain competitive in the market.”
