Matt Rothschild
Wow that debate was a rush! (Hour 1)
Y'all, that debate was fun to watch at times. Horribly infuriating and devastating at times- and so, so gratifying at others. We check in with Maggie Daun, Harvey Kaye, Matt Rothschild, and a whole host of friends on the phone about their reflections on the debate. We all saw a hell of a show from the two candidates and we're taking a day- just one- to revel in how Donald Trump made a complete ass of himself in front of dozens of millions of people.
Join Dom Salvia every afternoon from 4-6pm for news (some), humor (more), and great conversation (always)! Listen throughout the state of Wisconsin on the Civic Media network and worldwide on the Civic Media app. Call or text to join the fun at 855-752-4842.
Labor and the environment- y’know, easy topics (Hour 2)
Matt Rothschild continues hosting in Maggie's stead, joined by Angela Lang. They pick up the conversation begun by Maggie with Kaitlyn Henderson on the best and worst states in which to work. Beyond ensuring that laborers are fairly compensated for their work, we're concerned with safety and wellness in the rest of our lives.

“We the People” means all of us (Hour 1)
Matt Rothschild in the host seat today for Maggie. Joining Matt is Angela Lang, executive director of Black Leaders Organizing for Communities (BLOC) and current vice president of the board for ACLU Wisconsin. She and Matt address pressing needs facing our democracy, such as increasing voter access. A staggering percentage of our population cannot fulfill their civic right and responsibility to vote because they have felony records. In Wisconsin, a felony record does not prevent a citizen from voting- only an active sentence. But it's complicated, and many people are dissuaded from attempting to vote.
For the third segment, Peter Barca joins the duo to talk about why he's running to represent Wisconsin's 1st Congressional District again. Peter has a long history of representing Wisconsin and fighting for his constituents' rights. He's looking forward to getting back to his favorite work, moving Wisconsin forward.

Talking the talk, walking the walk, doing the work.(Hour 2)
Matt Rothschild guest hosts for Maggie today as she recovers from the DNC. For four days, we've been reveling in the excitement for the newly formed Democratic Presidential ticket. That enthusiasm is due. AND, now it's time to focus on the down-ballot. In that spirit, two down-ballot candidates join us this hour.
Christian Phelps, Democratic candidate for Wisconsin's 93rd Assembly seat. He chose to enter the political game to bring true representation of the region he knows has not had true legislative choice for too long. With new maps, it's time for change.
Dr. Kristin Lyerly is a board certified OB/GYN. And, she's running for Wisconsin's 8th Congressional District as a Democrat. Dr. Lyerly shares the energy she felt at the DNC. Now, she's ready to take action on her platform of compassionate care for all.

Abby is here to push back against the anti-LGBTQ rhetoric and policy put forth by the Republican party at the RNC this week with a call for empathy and compassion- it's not that complicated, just accept when people tell you who they are.
Lalo Lemus, board member for Voces de la Frontera joins in the second half hour to talk about immigrant rights. After a convention full of dehumanizing language directed towards immigrants, we are so grateful for Lalo's unifying, compassionate words.

Just because it’s traditional doesn’t mean it’s right (Hour 1)
After a looong week, thank goodness it's Friday. Matt Rothschild is guest hosting for Maggie. He opens the show up to the audience to weigh in: is it time for Biden to pass the torch? Callers weigh in on this and on the political events of this past week with the attempted assassination of Trump and the RNC in Milwaukee.
In the second half hour, Pastor Walter Lanier joins the show to talk about what's at stake in terms of voter suppression in this election. Voter suppression is as American as apple pie- but that doesn't mean we should keep it.
