Bellin Sports Medicine & Gizmo!

January 31, 2025

Guests: Gizmo, Mark Husen

Our weekly visit with Mark Husen with Bellin Sports Medicine focuses in on injuries during sporting events that don't necessarily involve the players. From coaches to refs to spectators, everyone at the event could be in danger if they aren't paying attention—some great advice for all spectators of events. Then, another great friend of the show, Gizmo joins to promote several shows that are coming up with Evergreen Theater. He also talks about the American English Show coming up at Waverly Beach on February 7th. Then, he does a special magic trick for Maino's birthday! It. Is. Mindblowing! You can check book Gizmo for parties and get-togethers HERE.

Sports Medicine & Bacon

January 24, 2025

Mark Husen from Bellin Sports Medicine is in the studio today to discuss ice safety. Whether you're enjoying winter sports or you're just walking down the street, ice safety is so important this time of year. He also just returned from a conference and wanted to put a plug out for local school boards and the amount of work and commitment the members give to the local communities. Mark also offers tips for getting in shape this time of year. Stretching and hydration are his top tips. Then we're joined by Aaron Ludwig. He's created a podcast called "Dads with Bacon TV". While they may talk about bacon, the word bacon is used in the name because it's Aaron's nickname. Think a bunch of dads sitting around talking about sports, gaming, grilling, family...all topics that are discussed on the podcast.

Sports Medicine, Ueck, Veterans Night

January 17, 2025

It's Friday, which means a great visit with Mark Husen from Bellin Sports Medicine is in the house!! The guys are on a mission to learn and play pickleball, and Mark admits that there is an uptick in injuries for older athletes in that sport. Other injuries this time of year include slips and falls. Mark says you can slip and hit the ground in a matter of seconds. Watching your step and even wearing spikes on your shoes can help create a safer environment. Also, Maino is suffering from gout, and is only wearing one shoe. Enjoy that thought today! Then CBS 58 Sports Director Lance Allen joins to talk about his relationship with the late Bob Uecker. Lance kinda got his start here in Green Bay at TV 5 but moved to Milwaukee many years ago. He says that meeting and working with Uecker was a high point in his career. Then Nicole Stockman, Veterans Services Officer at UWGB, calls in to invite veterans and first responders to a Men's Basketball game tonight.

Bellin Sports Medicine & Hybrid Wrestling

December 20, 2024

Our own Santa Claus, Mark Husen from Bellin Sports Medicine, joins the team and brings us special cookies called Pizelles. They were originally made in Southern Italy, and the name comes from the Italian word for round and flat. While the conversation focuses on the holidays, Mark does share some tips for physical activity in this snowy weather. Then TJ Bowles and Adam Grace from Hybrid Wrestling Entertainment join Jim and John to promote tonight's Brewery Bash 2 event at The Barrel Haus at Badger State Brewing. When we asked TJ which of the guys would be the "villain" in the wrestling ring, he immediately said "The Mayor"! We love it!

Mark & Naomi

December 6, 2024

Mark Husen from Bellin Sports Medicine is in the house and extends the conversation from earlier this week about the importance of water in your daily path to wellness. How much water is too much? How much is enough? The significant point is that we all NEED to drink more water, which helps in so many ways. Then local artist Naomi Moes joins via the phone to talk about a holiday sale taking place with the Art Garage in Green Bay this weekend.

Since the boys are off for the rest of the week, Mark Husen joins from Bellin Sports Medicine. While Maino and Nikki and Mark talk about health safety, they also go off the rails and talk about high school mascots and the WIAA. Maino brings up some Thanksgiving trivia that ends with Maino trying to do an Arnold Schwarzenegger impersonation. We're thankful for Mark, a great friend of the show. Then Tom Rueckl is in for our Moving With The Malcores segment. Tom is the developer of the condos being built right across the street from Northbrook Golf and Grill and is also a financial advisor as well!   They have a couple of recently completed models and will be on the market soon! Drinksgiving!

November 27, 2024

Guest: Mark Husen

Nikki Z. sits in for The Mayor, who travels to New York City with his family. Today is Drinksgiving, Jukebox Day, and Craft Jerky Day. The day started with Nikki giving Maino a quick and deadly dig. The conversation turns to The Mayor's Christmas party, which none of the staff have been informed of the date. Maino talks about snorkeling and the fact that he has never gone. We're thankful for Mark Husen from Bellin Sports Medicine. He is always a welcome face in the studio; this morning, he stops in with bagels!

Sports & More Sports

November 22, 2024

Mark Husen from Bellin Sports Medicine is in the studio this morning, and he takes time to promote all of the local teams going to state this week—the memories for the teams, kids, and families. Food becomes part of the conversation, as usual. Mark shares stories about his Italian family, and Maino whines about boiled dinner (cabbage, potatoes, carrots, and turnips). Maino asks Jim what the first thing he grabs on the Thanksgiving table is. Jim's response: "The outside fork." Maino said, "Sweet potatoes." Then Bryan Milz and Tim Marquart, along with the Green Bay Officials Association, are in to promote the need for more officials for school sports. Besides the need for younger people to get involved, there is a real need for women officials! Ladies, check this out!!!
