Mark Husen
An Important Hour of Radio
Dennis Peters remains in the co-host chair while Jim continues his vacation. Mark Husen from Bellin Sports Medicine joins to help Dennis make a very important announcement: Dennis has been diagnosed with stage four prostate cancer. Devastating news for Dennis and his family and friends (radio friends included). However, the reason he wanted to do the special segment is to make the point that you should take care of yourself, advocate for yourself, and not disregard signs of illness. We thank Dennis for allowing us to be the venue for making this announcement. The meaningful hour continues when Cari Josephson from the Walk To End Alzheimer's brings a special guest with her: former Wisconsin Governor Marty Schreiber. Governor Schreiber has recently penned a book called My Two Elaines about his story of caregiving for his wife, Elaine. He writes about having to watch his beloved wife gradually transform from the woman who had gracefully entertained in the Executive Residence to one who sometimes no longer recognized him as her husband. Net proceeds from the sales of My Two Elaines will be used to promote Alzheimer’s caregiver support programs.

Sports Medicine and Hoops!
The hour starts with Mark Husen from Bellin Sports Medicine. Mark joins via the phone because he's down in Madison working the WIAA finals! Mark's main message was to take some time this weekend and go down and enjoy and support the teams! A big thank you to Mark and the staff at Bellin for being a part of high school sports in Northeast Wisconsin. Then Steve Brandes, President of the Wisconsin Herd, calls in to help promote the next several home games for the team. They're on a run to the playoffs, and he's asking the fans to come out and be the "6th Player" for the team. Tonight is "Wisconsin Her Night," which focuses on Women's History Month. We all need to "Herd Up!"

The Crud & Wrastlin’
Bellin Sports Medicine's Mark Husen switches gears and talks about this "crud" that's going around. Whether it's Influenza A or bad colds, these sicknesses are sticking around for more than a few days. Mark makes some great points about when you should use the emergency room and when you should use urgent care. Apparently, our emergency rooms are overflowing, and it is slowing down the process of seeing patients properly. Always great advice from Mark and Bellin. Then TJ Bowles and Aaron Arsenal join from HWE - Hybrid Wrestling Entertainment. Their "Game On" event is tonight at Badger State Brewing and Jim and John are ring announcers for one of the matches!

Medicine & Headlines
We start the second hour of this Valentine's Day show with Mark Husen from Bellin Sports Medicine. Since today is Organ Donor Day, Mark reminds people to "get that sticker" on the back of their driver's license to affirm that they are organ donors. This is a great idea on a day that is supposed to be about love. Then Tori Whittenbrock and John Craemer are in the studio with the Headlines With The Press Times.

Bellin Sports Medicine & Gizmo!
Our weekly visit with Mark Husen with Bellin Sports Medicine focuses in on injuries during sporting events that don't necessarily involve the players. From coaches to refs to spectators, everyone at the event could be in danger if they aren't paying attention—some great advice for all spectators of events. Then, another great friend of the show, Gizmo joins to promote several shows that are coming up with Evergreen Theater. He also talks about the American English Show coming up at Waverly Beach on February 7th. Then, he does a special magic trick for Maino's birthday! It. Is. Mindblowing! You can check book Gizmo for parties and get-togethers HERE.

Sports Medicine & Bacon
Mark Husen from Bellin Sports Medicine is in the studio today to discuss ice safety. Whether you're enjoying winter sports or you're just walking down the street, ice safety is so important this time of year. He also just returned from a conference and wanted to put a plug out for local school boards and the amount of work and commitment the members give to the local communities. Mark also offers tips for getting in shape this time of year. Stretching and hydration are his top tips. Then we're joined by Aaron Ludwig. He's created a podcast called "Dads with Bacon TV". While they may talk about bacon, the word bacon is used in the name because it's Aaron's nickname. Think a bunch of dads sitting around talking about sports, gaming, grilling, family...all topics that are discussed on the podcast.

Sports Medicine, Ueck, Veterans Night
It's Friday, which means a great visit with Mark Husen from Bellin Sports Medicine is in the house!! The guys are on a mission to learn and play pickleball, and Mark admits that there is an uptick in injuries for older athletes in that sport. Other injuries this time of year include slips and falls. Mark says you can slip and hit the ground in a matter of seconds. Watching your step and even wearing spikes on your shoes can help create a safer environment. Also, Maino is suffering from gout, and is only wearing one shoe. Enjoy that thought today! Then CBS 58 Sports Director Lance Allen joins to talk about his relationship with the late Bob Uecker. Lance kinda got his start here in Green Bay at TV 5 but moved to Milwaukee many years ago. He says that meeting and working with Uecker was a high point in his career. Then Nicole Stockman, Veterans Services Officer at UWGB, calls in to invite veterans and first responders to a Men's Basketball game tonight.

Bellin Sports Medicine & Hybrid Wrestling
Our own Santa Claus, Mark Husen from Bellin Sports Medicine, joins the team and brings us special cookies called Pizelles. They were originally made in Southern Italy, and the name comes from the Italian word for round and flat. While the conversation focuses on the holidays, Mark does share some tips for physical activity in this snowy weather. Then TJ Bowles and Adam Grace from Hybrid Wrestling Entertainment join Jim and John to promote tonight's Brewery Bash 2 event at The Barrel Haus at Badger State Brewing. When we asked TJ which of the guys would be the "villain" in the wrestling ring, he immediately said "The Mayor"! We love it!

Mark & Naomi
Mark Husen from Bellin Sports Medicine is in the house and extends the conversation from earlier this week about the importance of water in your daily path to wellness. How much water is too much? How much is enough? The significant point is that we all NEED to drink more water, which helps in so many ways. Then local artist Naomi Moes joins via the phone to talk about a holiday sale taking place with the Art Garage in Green Bay this weekend.
