River Valley coach Corey Schmidt joins us.

Corey, how has he been playing this year?

You know, we've had a lot of really tough competition.

So we've been winning most of the games that we expected to win.

But overall, you know, six losses at this point in the season is a lot more than we're used to having.

But yeah, we're bringing it together.

I think the team's starting to play our best soccer.

So we'll see what happens.

Coming off a match with Dodge Point the other night.

How did you play at home

Tuesday night?

Yeah, it was a good game.

We won 2-0.

Honestly, it could have easily been sick.

So we definitely had a lot of opportunities.

We progressed well.

We got into the attack well.

It was a good game.

Probably our best game today.

What do you expect from Richland Center tonight, Corey?

I expect them to bring it.

Whenever we come here, they're going to be fired up, and they're going to come at us.

So I think we have to make the adjustment from turf to a football to a used field.

So we need to just keep the ball moving.

You know, I think it'll be a good match.

That's what I think.

Do you have a lot of leadership, a lot of veteran players this year

on the field?

16 years.

Yeah, no, definitely our senior lead team for sure.

You know, captain, goalkeeper, Dylan Perry, who is soon to commit to Central Iowa.

That's exciting.

So, yeah, it's a really fun group.

That's what I would say about this group.

What do you say about the conference?

Who are the teams to chase this year as far as the league title is concerned?

I think Platteville could team to beat again.

Just like the last couple of years for sure.

They're having a very good season.

They've played some tough teams in one.

They're an organized team with some good attackers.

It's going to be a tough game when we play them.

I know everybody else has had trouble with them so far, so we haven't played them yet, so we'll see.

And you always get a good following on the road, of course.

It's a close road game for

your fans,

but

you expect pretty good support here tonight.

I hope so.

I wouldn't say it's been amazing so far, but we have been traveling.

A lot of our travels have been pretty far.

So yeah, I hope so.

Playing the late game, the 7 o'clock birthday game.

I think I hope we can get some get some noise in the stands tonight, for sure.

Do you like the seven o'clock start to read your other play the first game at five?

No, I would prefer to play seven.

Unfortunately, I don't really have the numbers.

It's not easy for us to play JV first.

So it's better if I play varsity first, JV second, but they requested it.

I get it.

It's more fun under the lights.

So let's go play.

What are the keys if you're going to get a win here tonight over Richland Center, Corey?

I think the keys are we play smart on the back end, don't give up anything easy and just fine feet, keep the ball moving, play to spaces.

Like I said, it's a slow field so we just got to make an adjustment from playing on turf at home to playing a more open game where we have to play to spaces, run to the ball, less tiki-taki.

The solar field helps the poor old radio announcer, because the turf's a little faster.

Good luck to you.

Good to see you, Corey.

It's a big adjustment for sure.

Coach Stadler joins us, Richeln Center soccer.

Well, Coach, as you look at this point in the season, how has the team been playing through the first month or so?

We've been competing well.

We've been scoring goals in almost every game.

We lost to Riedsburg recently, but Andrew Mada scored a fantastic goal.

And so despite the loss, we have some bright moments.

Looking at that, what are some things the team has to improve on, Tom?

Well, defensively, we need to mark up.

And marking up is a great tool as defense.

And we'll see if we can do that tonight against River Valley.

What do you know about the Blackhawks?

Well, we've had a great rivalry over the years.

And this year, I think it's going to be one of our better matches.

I think we're evenly matched with them this year and expect to have a fantastic game at home.

Phil Nee

What can you do in terms of comparing scores?

Because they've been fairly similar with some of the teams they've

played and you've played, right?

Yeah, that's correct.

You know, I think they beat LaMaira 2-0.

We also beat LaMaira.

You know, I think that early in the season, scores don't carry as much gravity as later in the season when the teams have really established themselves.

For instance,

We have a new player who's going to be taking the pitch tonight in Ashton Buick.

Ashton's a junior and he's exceptionally fast and talented.

We're excited to add him to our roster for the evening.

Phil Nee

Absolutely.

And how has the JV been doing so far this year, Tom?

Oh, boy, the JV is a blast for Coach Clark and Coach Crock to coach.

There's so much good energy and talent at that JV level.

You know, they're figuring out what players should play and what positions, but the JV, they've had good matches.

We're hoping for a victory for them as well tonight.

Phil Nee

With your team, have you got everybody in the places that you want them to be where you think you can be the most successful?

Yes, we ran the offense and defense last night in a light scrimmage.

And I was very pleased with the ball movement.

Andrew Mada in the midfield with Cody Pauls is a fantastic combination.

And so looking forward to it.

Phil Nee

Any sidelined or any injuries for tonight's contest?

Thankfully, no, we're looking full strength and everybody's up to speed.

In fact, I was just telling Coach Bailey, I think this is the most healthy team we've had in years going into this evening's rivalry match.

If any tournaments coming up on the weekends, Tom.

Yes, next weekend we have our home tournament.

And so that's exciting for us.

We'll be welcoming three other teams and playing games at home.

That's a great thing for Richland Center.

All right sounds good.

Well good luck as you get ready for River Valley in the match tonight.

Thank you Phil and thank you WRCO.

Number five, also number seven is Sean Adams.

Henry Martin is number nine.

Landon Williams is number 10.

Andrew Mada 11.

Nash Burkhammer is number 12.

And number 16 is Harrison Carpenter.

We are underway.

River Valley in the white with the black lettering Richland Center in the orange with black lettering.

And the ball out of bounds here on the near side.

River Valley in Richland Center territory now as they get set to get the throw in across the touch line.

Getting the ball from the ball boy and ready to toss it in is Tyson Luther for River Valley Makes a spin now throws it in good range Down inside the box headed by the RC defense and brought out along the near side when it's looking for Sean Adams and Trying to pounce on it's Henry Martin Martin giving it back now to Mata Andrew around the defense and now weaves his way up near midfield crosses over against the defender and there's the pass over to the far side Martin

Martin works it in the middle now dropped right back in the path and trying to get in line is Henry Martin It's going to be booted by River Valley and that ball Out of bounds right around the corner flag off of River Valley.

So just into the night tonight We're going to have our first corner kick and Richland Center with an opportunity right out of the gate.

They will send Cody Paul's down to do the honors Paul's from the far side the south end zone

and getting ready for the chance to get something in the middle of the field.

And up, and here's the approach, and the ball is going to be right up for grabs right in the middle.

Headed right in front of the net, now pounced down by the hornet, said ball deflected, and it goes across the goal line.

It will come back, I believe.

Let's see how the officials call it.

It may be another corner kick, and it will be on the near side.

So coming back for the corner kick,

will be Richland Center and Cody Pauls does the honors once again.

Pauls with the hand up and here is this one up for grabs again right in front of the net taken by the keeper.

Nice job coming out with it there and coming the other way now.

Nice play by Dylan Perry of River Valley again headed towards some college ball next year.

puts a good leg into it and that ball caroms across midfield.

Hornet defense respond.

Connor Stoltz is going to drill it out of bounds at the midfield flag and River Valley will put it in play.

Just underway here at Richland Center High School tonight.

Our engineer is Tim Thied and I am filming.

Here is a flip in bounce by River Valley.

Hornets try a header, got a piece of it, it's out of bounds.

River Valley will have it as it throw in near the touch line.

Just at the edge of the

Richland Center bench.

So the Blackhawks will do the honors.

Hornets trying to block the passing lanes.

Here comes a long toss inside the box.

Going to be played by the Hornet defense and drilled out near midfield.

Stopping the ball in mid-action is Gavin Abbott may have touched the ball and it's going to drop down for a free kick right near the midfield line.

So everybody moves backwards and Richland Center will stand in

to put it in play once again and get it going.

Four minutes into the contest here tonight.

And the Hornets with the approach headed downfield, getting into the passing lanes.

And here's the approach by Paul's.

Lofts this one down inside, top of the box, header there by Luther of River Valley.

The ball caroms over to the right side.

And now picking up on the dribble is Vellick.

He's going to get it up near midfield.

played by the Hornets, drilled back toward Mata in the middle.

Now Mata turns around, one would-be defender, and now drives, takes a shot with a left foot and rolls down near the goal, and now going to be picked up in the hands of Dylan Perry and brought back the other way.

So the Hornets have had a couple of chances with that ball, down in close proximity.

Should be a good matchup all night long tonight.

Ball played on the near side by Edward Thomas of River Valley.

Thomas gets it across midfield.

defended well by the Hornets.

And whistle stops him.

Henry Martin was there.

Whistle against River Valley, so another dead ball.

It lays right around the 41 yard line of the football field.

Hornets will near midfield as they put it in play.

Five minutes into the action tonight.

Squirrelish here in Southwest Wisconsin Conference soccer.

Here's the approach in a long kick by Paul's Cody.

drove it into the heart of that defense, River Valley, and they're gonna quickly get it out to Cameron Lilla, crosses midfield, trying to push it up for the forwards, and Connor Solcius drills it out of bounds for the Hornets defense.

Up onto the bank, near Richland Center High School, so River Valley will have the ball, they will throw it in right in front of the RC bench, and the Hornets again, getting into their lanes on defense, starting way back on the track.

River Valley now with a throw in across the touch line.

It's going to be a header there and left side down near the goal line and River Valley can't control it.

It's crossed the goal line and the Hornets will have it back on a goal kick.

WRCO sports desk sponsored by Raise Do It Best and Rockwell Automation here on a Thursday night live with high school soccer.

Ball out of bounds again on the far side.

On the Richland Center kick, River Valley will take over control.

And there is a quick throw in.

They try to work it develop.

Virgil gets around one defender down.

Parallel to a goal.

I'm trying to get it closer for a centering pass.

And taken by Federley, the Hornet goalie.

He'll roll it out on the far side to Mada.

Mada, Stutter steps now, drives it up through the field.

It's going to be intended for Adams.

Lifted there by River Valley and passed to the far side and driving it into the Hornet defense on the other side River Valley Stoles clears it up near midfield Stopped played the other way there by Clary And the ball is cleared Ball on the right side for the Hornets stopping nice job by Henry Martin Martin centers it back to the left side looking for Nelson

Josh gives it over to the left side.

Hornets trying to find their way past now to Stoltz, coming up from the defense, helping out Mata back to Stoltz.

And now the ball is lifted by Garcia of River Valley, drives it across the midfield line, and the ball rolls out of bounds over on the Hornet sideline.

Richland Center will throw it in.

Andrew Mata makes the stop.

Mata turns in, tries to find the range.

Gives it to the left side.

The Hornets drill it across midfield and it is out of bounds.

It will be thrown in by Josh Nelson.

Josh is a senior this year.

Brings it into Andrew Mada.

Mada defended by Edward Thomas of River Valley.

The two kind of going head to head on the far side and Nelson wins the battle temporarily.

Steps in getting some backup now.

The Hornet defense

Bada takes it away, driving on the far side near the touch line.

He's about 25 yards away from the goal, now driving down near the goal line and is tripped up and is going to be taken away by River Valley.

They clear it up to the midfield line.

We played by Connor Stoltz and Stoltz drives one long and then rolls across the goal line and out of bounds.

Nine minutes into the action, we'll be back in just a moment.

Skull is here in high school soccer from WRCO Sports.

Or it's out of the balls to welcome it back Sean Adams in Nearly good territory now brings it across to the left side Andrew Matta is there waiting pounces it back now the Hornets retreat Ball is going to be drilled at left side by Williams and that ball caroms toward the out of bounds like Nash Burkhammer was there as well and the ball out of bounds It'll be thrown in by River Valley across the test line on the stadium side of the field River Valley

Looking to pounce that one in play.

It's going to be near the top.

It's going to be played there on the left side by Wesley Adams.

Adams looking downfield for Adams.

Wesley and Sean along the near side.

Henry Martin gets it free.

Tries to drive it back in the middle.

Hornets are on the attack.

Pounced away there by Virgil Villup.

Goes to the far side.

Carams up near midfield and River Valley with the ball.

Blackhawks.

Taking it.

Thomas across the midfield line.

They got a little bit of break trying to avoid being off sides.

Thomas takes a shot.

Federally slides in there.

Big collision.

Net is open.

All rolls loose and goes across the out of bounds line.

And a River Valley player is down after the collision with the keeper.

So play will be stopped at this point.

Injury on the field and both teams going into check on the welfare of the River Valley player.

Central Center and River Valley battling for the first time this conference season.

They'll play again at River Valley and then a little bit later on this year the potential is there for a tournament berth as well.

WIAA playoffs coming up in October.

Injury time on the field we are scoreless

The injured River Valley player is being looked at now and looks like he's going to walk off the field on the far side after being shaken up on the play.

So good round of applause from the fans that have gathered here.

as coach Corey Schmidt mentioned, not as many numbers as River Valley normally has.

The injured player is Edward Thomas and he will be walking off the field gingerly.

There is a trainer here at all times, so they will take a look at him and we'll hope to see him back real soon.

So play will resume here in just a moment.

Scoreless ball game from Richland Center High School of Vitus Ripfield.

Lights have been on.

Junior varsity action saw Richland Center win.

Three goals to two in the JV-1 action.

So after all that, it's a corner kick by River Valley and we're underway.

Blackhawks keep it low to the ground, ball headed, ball open net and River Valley scores as they get a header goal there for the Blackhawks.

They put one in and they're up by a score of one to nothing.

Awesome job, a header goal.

for River Valley and they put it in to take a one to nothing lead.

Good teamwork there by the Blackhawks.

And the goal will be credited to Virgil Phillips, I believe.

So good effort by River Valley getting the score and that comes at 29-19 here in the first half.

Virgil's scoring off a corner kick.

We're underway.

Kick off again after the recent score.

River Valley again drives it to the right side, working on it.

He is Preston.

Preston on the left side, marked by the Hornets.

Deed up by Martin, drives it up near midfield, and now looking for Sean Adams.

And then ball scoots to the right side, taken by the River Valley defense.

Abbott drops it back to the keeper, and he in turn drills it out of bounds here on the stadium side.

The Hornets will pick up on it, thrown in quickly by Nash Burkamer.

trying to drive it ahead toward Henry Martin, and that ball caroms toward the out of bounds line.

It will be played by River Valley here on the near side, on the stadium side.

Quick goal by the Blackhawks after the injury time, which took a little time.

Blackhawks regrouping and getting the chance for an open net after getting the keeper to play on it.

Here comes the throw in by the Blackhawks.

It's going to be bodied there by Burkamer.

Burkamer drops it back now off to the left side, and River Valley uses his D. Backtracking up to Cameron Lilla, and Lilla drives it to the right side.

And the Blackhawks try to assume the ball right in near midfield.

It goes out of bounds, so the Hornets will throw it in.

RC tossing it in.

The ball played, now knocked out of bounds by

the

Hornets, thrown in by River Valley.

They're on the move.

getting it across the midfield line ball at center circle picking up on it as James Dibart Dibart drives it back and now pushed out by Garcia to the right side Aguilar is there driving it back toward the middle and it rolls inside the box and the keeper is going to try to come up make the play everybody goes down the ball rolls to the left side River Valley tries again that one is going to be drilled by Garcia and out of bounds across the goal line we'll come back to Richland Center that was another

opportunity for the Blackhawks to try and get something in there as the net was open briefly.

Nice night here at Richland Center High School.

Keep it tuned here.

We've got more games in Southwest Wisconsin moving to earlier times tomorrow in high school football.

We'll talk about that during the Dairyland Transportation High School sports update.

Here is, and that's at halftime by the way, Richland Center puts it up,

near midfield and they get it across looking for Mata and Mata has got it.

Jukes is defender and now lost it for a moment played back by Garcia of River Valley.

Garcia drives it to Villup on the right side.

Villup keeps it in bounds looking outfield and the Blackhawks will catch up with it.

Good speed for this Blackhawk team.

Good transition looking along the goal line.

It's deflected by the Horns amount of bounds.

River Valley will have the ball on the far side of the field.

right near the corner flag for a throw in.

Blackhawks have a goal here tonight trying to add to it as they get set and here comes the throw from the far side.

It's a strong throw.

Header by Villup, that one blows across the goal line and out of bounds.

Hornets will get a back on a keeper play.

Goal kick and now it comes the other way 14 minutes into action one nothing River Valley in the lead in Southwest Wisconsin Conference soccer tonight Hornets will start a motion again River Valley back Later on the midfield line and there is a long kick by the Hornets up near midfield head or tribe by River Valley And they're going to work it back to Tyson Luther.

Luther drops it back to Lilla And I'll let the keeper come out and take it

Bill and Perry ball stole a close range by Burr camera that ball is going to deflect and head out of bounds So it comes back to River Valley right near the out-of-bounds line Right here on the touch line here comes the throw in by Luther throws it in header by Martin original Center back in business They get it to Mata on a quick pass and now a close proximity driving up to Henry Martin Martin on the left side bringing it back to Mata

Moda protects the ball tries to drop it back to the defense River Valley is there momentarily and now they're going to loft it up over The defense looking for the forward and it's going to roll toward the out-of-bounds line and it will come back to Richland Center on a throw in We're nearing the 15-minute mark of the first half 1-0 River Valley leading here in action at a vitus repeal Hornets

trying to get some offense going.

Ball comes along to the near side and River Valley places at left side.

There's another injury on the field.

So injury time will stop the clock at 2431 and the Hornets have a player down in the field.

So each team has had an injury time here so far in the first half.

We'll take a break.

1-0 in favor of the Blackhawks.

Injury time is over.

The injured Hornet leaves the field under his own power, Andrew Mata.

And we are back to action now after the ball is dropped down and we'll start again.

Whistle gets it going and River Valley takes over.

There's a long kick by Luther.

Left side it skirts across the touch line and out of bounds.

Richland Center will get it back on the ball from the ball boy and Burkhammer puts it on the ground.

Martin juggles the kick trying to find the middle.

It's going to be knocked down by River Valley near the out of bounds line.

Burkhammer is going to take it as it rolls across.

Throws it in to Martin again.

Back to Nash.

Nash on the near side drives it up near midfield.

Played there by Adams.

Adams drops it back and Cody Paul's looking for a long pass to Adams, deflected by River Valley up near midfield again.

Playing it is Victor Vergara.

Vergara, nice pass.

River Valley open for a moment.

Left side looking to step in and now take a shot is Schultz.

He is defended by Burkhamer.

The ball rolls up near midfield and Sean Adams of the Horns.

underway trying to work on right side.

His pocket is picked by Abbott.

Ball deflects out near midfield.

Ritual center with the ball again.

Left side.

Now back to the middle.

Working the ball is Henry Martin.

Deflected now driven by Luther into the Ritual Center defense.

Stoltz is over there.

Works his way toward the ball and a call is made there on the body.

play of Richland Center.

So it's going to come back for a dead ball and a free kick right by the Richland Center bench.

We have 23 minutes left in the first half River Valley in the lead by a score of one to nothing tonight.

And the Black Hawks will start it from just inside the touch line far side.

And here is a long kick.

That one is going to angle the left side goes way past the goal and over in the goal line area.

kept in bounds by River Valley, the Black Oaks, trying to pop something through for a second time tonight.

First goal came on a corner kick.

Hornets defend and Sean Adams working his way toward midfield.

Pocket picked there by Garcia, going left side, back to the middle, Vergara, inside the box, it's deflected, comes to the right side and Schultz, he gives it off to Dibart, Dibart driving inside a little deeper, deflected by the Hornets out near midfield.

Again, Abbott,

drops it back to the River Valley defense and River Valley in control.

Cameron Lilla trying to thread the needle through and the Hornets will defend and this one pops in the air across midfield.

Hornets with a header trying to get some offense going here.

It's been a little while since they've had a unique special threat there.

They've had a couple of chances early on with a couple of touches by the keeper Dylan Perry.

But the Hornets haven't been able to put it in together.

This one bulls out of bounds at the near side and the Hornets will throw it in again from the stadium side.

22 minutes remaining in the first half.

1-0 River Valley.

Now taking it with him is Sean Adams along the touch line.

Drops it back now for Henry Martin.

Martin middle of the field now driving left side trying to go a little on it.

Pooches in toward the keeper and it's going to be taken there by Dylan Perry.

Henry Martin couldn't get as much on it as he wanted or needed.

and River Valley stops.

And it goes back the other way.

Cross the midfield line.

Now Connor Stoltz on the Hornets, pounds that ball to the left side and the Hornets get some offense going.

Andrew Melby left side drops it backwards and the Hornets try to work it inside the box.

River Valley defends as it's clipped out of there and out of bounds by Abbott.

RC good field position.

Cody Pauls will throw it in.

throws it directly in.

Henry Martin plays it off the body, tries to drive inside.

Clean down by River Valley.

Ball rolls out near midfield and Connor Stoles protecting the ball.

And it's going to be wrestled away there by Vergara and Schultz.

And looks like a ball that will stop in the Hornets' favor.

A dead ball now as River Valley is whistled for the hook.

And it comes back down to the Hornets.

With about 20 minutes remaining in the first half long kick down near Top of the box near the 18 ball knocked down by River Valley defense Hornets in line not too bad a field position trying to get open Working it on the near side clean down by River Valley and now Burkhammer tries to drill it through on the ground There's another long shot.

This one is high and across the goal for Josh Nelson got a look at it.

Anyway, the Hornets

We'll head back the other way.

It's still a 1-0 ball game.

River Valley in the lead, and the Hornets will be substituting.

Looks like Martin will come out.

See who the substitute is, and now it looks like River Valley will start it in play.

Header try by the Hornets.

It goes out of bounds on the near side.

River Valley will try to maintain momentum.

as they'll put it in play on the near side.

Caden Nelson, number 20, is the new player in there for the Hornets.

River Valley throws it in from the stadium side, popping it up toward the defense of Richland Center, trying to sneak inside.

There he is, Bergara, and it drops toward the corner and out of bounds.

It'll come back to the Hornets.

Righted corner flag on the throw in.

Ball at the north.

Goal line area and now brought in River Valley will drop it back to the defense and try to set it strong again Abbott gives it back now to Lilla Lilla cutting left side header by Luther trying to get it toward the offensive side Driven back down by the Hornets Abbott on the left side drives it across the middle and Connor Stoltz is there to stop it Stoltz drops it off to Nelson and now the Hornets

Fire it up along the middle of the field down to around the 30 line yard line before River Valley drills that one out of bounds and the Hornets will get it back looks like we could have another Slightly injured player getting up a little bit slowly may have slipped down.

I'm not sure that that was in a spot where there was any any contact So Stoltz, I believe will come out of the lineup And the Hornets look for a quick substitution

Good numbers for Richland Center Soccer this year, around 30 players at the start of the season, and I believe they have picked up a few others.

We had talked on the pregame show to coach Stadler about the addition of Ashton Buick, who is a junior, and RC with Marco Calabia, who is a senior and exchange student who is out for the sport, and I believe he is available for the first time tonight as well.

Here's the throw in River Valley with the ball right around the midfield line trying to crack the code against the RC defense.

Clean down by Nelson ball rolls across the middle played by number four David Garcia for River Valley to drop it back to the defense and now cranking on it as Dylan Kane the ball goes out of bounds along the touch line will be thrown in now by the Hornets on the right side.

RC dropping it in.

Shortly it's going to be.

Bumped out of bounds by Divert.

Again, Hornets will throw it in.

Doing the honors will be either Caden Nelson or Nash Burkamer.

It's Nash.

Nash brings it in.

Nelson is there.

Taking it away is Divert.

Ball knocked down and the Hornets try to defend.

The ball rolls out of bounds.

It'll be off of River Valley and looks like we have another substitution coming in for the Hornets.

bit of a breather for Josh Nelson.

He goes out of the lineup and the Hornets will take it in play.

Right along the near side, Caden Nelson, Nelson for the Hornets, driven by River Valley and out of bounds, coming up strong and making the play.

So it'll come back to the Hornets on a throw in, Burke Hammer tries to thread the needle along the near side of the ball, bounces a couple of times and then

Heads out of bounds.

Bass was intended there for Ashton Buick.

And here comes a throw in by River Valley.

Headed right out of bounds by Burke Hammer at the center flag.

So River Valley will be in action with the ball in hand and try to get it going.

We have about 16 minutes remaining in the first half.

River Valley hanging on to a 1-0 lead.

Here's the throw in.

Ball taken now by number eight, that seems Dibert.

Divert drops a quick pass back to Schultz.

Schultz on the near side marked by Richel's center.

The ball is out of bounds and River Valley will have the throw in.

Blacklocks looking to do the otters trying to set something up here at their end of the field.

They are parallel with the 18.

Here comes the throw in by Tyson Luther.

Luther drops it in near the top of the box and the River Valley driving over to the right side.

They're looking for Phillip.

pinned in by the Hornet defense trying to keep it in bounds nice Backward save and the black box take it down near the goal line here's a shot Defended by the Hornets ball caroms up near midfield played by Luther Luther drops it over the top looking for a nice play by Divert Divert tries it down near the goal line Defended by the Hornets coming to the right side tries to bring it in front of the net over shot his man and rolls across the 18 and now

The Hornets will take over and River Valley gambling a little bit.

Some open space.

But now the Black Hawk defense will catch it up.

There's going to be little checking going on River Valley with.

The chance for a good thing here.

They've got the ball now as it's a dead ball free kick on the right side and here goes a long shot by the Black Oaks.

Knocked down.

On the right side by the keeper Caleb federally rolls across the top of the line.

Now Edward Thomas.

Retreats, Thomas.

Drops it now to Garcia.

Garcia makes the play, nice move.

Fires it right side, Julio Aguilar, and into the mix.

Going left side now, he shoals.

He shoals down around the goal line, keeps it in bounds, gives it back into the path of Diver, chains down around the goal line, and that ball across the goal line and out of bounds.

It was touched last by original center will be a River Valley corner kick and this is how they scored earlier tonight.

Just a little over 10 minutes into the first half.

So River Valley will start it from the near flag.

Everybody else getting in tight.

There comes the kick.

That one is high right in front of the mad header try by the Black Rocks ball still losing limble inside the box and the whistle stops and I believe.

We've got a penalty inside the box.

River Valley might get a golden opportunity right now.

Officials talking it over, so it started with the corner kick on the near side by Edward Thomas who is back into the lineup and again was shaken up a little bit ago.

The officials conferring down around the goal line on the play.

We have 13 minutes remaining here in the first half and

I believe there is no penalty where it looks.

So no penalty and it will come back to the Hornets on a keeper kick.

They get it to Federle and he will start it off on the left side.

So no penalty and River Valley back on the defense.

Long kick, Schultz tries to keep it in bounds for the Black Oaks.

It's out of bounds.

Richland Center with a ball, thrown in by Burkhammer.

Berkhammer drops it now giving it to the middle Andrew Melby Melby gets it across midfield ball along the near side trying to catch up with it is Ashton Buick and the ball is out of bounds off of the Hornets.

It will be River Valley ball.

The Hornets will take over.

Fill me flip phone sponsored by Y Connect Wireless.

Fennelmore up on Cuba City won nothing in high school volleyball going on tonight.

High school action and scores.

made possible by the flip phone.

Sponsored by Y Connect Wireless.

River Valley up near midfield.

Divert tries ahead or it goes out of bounds and the Hornets will bring it in play.

Ball is back to Bewick.

Bewick turns in, deflected by River Valley.

They'll pop it up over the top looking downfield for Julio Aguilar.

Aguilar left side.

Now they got something going.

River Valley going one-on-one, taking a shot, knocked down by Federle.

Oh, what a nice play.

Divert with a close.

Proximity goal chance drives one into the hands of Caleb Federle, who makes the play and rolls it out to the left side.

Divert had a lot of mustard on that one.

Scores stays one-nothing.

River Valley back at it.

Aguilar right now.

Here's Divert again between two defenders and down around the goal line.

Caleb Federle drives it out, going left side and the ball's still loose.

River Valley can't get much out of it.

It goes across the goal line and it's off of the Hornets.

So River Valley will have another attempt.

We have just less than 11 minutes remaining in the first half and River Valley will start it from the corner flag, closest to the high school.

Fourth corner kick of the first half

Gray Gunderson

for

River Valley.

There is the whistle.

Everybody into position.

Lulea Aguilar, the

man that will start it over near the corner flag looks like the Hornets bringing back Josh Nelson into the lineup that

was a hold

up they also have at least four players

That looked like they'll be coming into the lineup very quickly.

Here comes the approach from the corner.

This one right in the middle of the box, docked down and a close play.

A little strum in front of the goal and it's going to be drilled out to the left side and the Hornets will take over responsibility out near the midfield line.

Now intercepted by River Valley, the Blackhawks bring it back toward the middle of the field and now turning in his diver again around a couple of players.

They're going to drop it back to the goalie and federally will do the rest.

So Caleb wings it.

out near midfield and played there by the Hornets out of bounds off of River Valley.

So throwing it in will be Richland Center.

Caden Nelson.

Caden throws it in.

Taking the ball over there is number seven.

Sean Adams Adams protecting the ball at midfield drops it back now.

Cody Paul is trying to get a little English on.

It's going to be knocked down by River Valley and they're looking for Dibert who gets through, but it's going to be deflected enough by the Hornet defense.

that the ball will roll down to the goal line and out of bounds.

But I think it'll be a River Valley corner kick.

That is the initial indication.

And Coach Tom Standler bringing in five fresh set of legs.

Getting a chance to rest some players down to nine and a half minutes remaining in the first half.

The Dairyland Transportation High School Sports Update comes up at halftime tonight.

And the Horace will get it going now with the defense.

Bringing it up near midfield.

Waiting for Valley has had pretty good answer here each time for these goal kicks.

That ball is up near midfield and the Hawks will make a play on it.

Enter by Thomas.

Takes it back looking in front of Garcia.

Garcia is there.

And it's defended by the Hornets and out of bounds, and it will be Ristle Center ball.

So the Hornets stop the forward progress.

RC will throw it in.

Nelson drops it in.

And Ramada, good to see him back after out for injury.

Ramada looking to get it free and will.

Off to the left side.

Right at midfield play.

He's tripped up now as he tries to drive that a little into the heart of the River Valley defense.

Hornets try to help him out a little bit.

Deflected by Divert now deflected by the horse off to the near side and stole stole to the header trying to drive it into the forwards area That ball is going to pop up left side Seth Gald who's in there over on the far side keeps it in play Gald back to the middle and now the Hornets trying to drive it inside River Valley just physicals the ball away Tyson Luther nice play up near midfield and David Garcia takes it across midfield Defended by the Hornets and that ball

goes crazy and goes out of bounds.

Off the foot of Cody Pauls and Company, so it'll be thrown in by River Valley.

Ball stays in bounds on the far side and now out of bounds.

It'll be thrown in by the Hornets, 740 remaining in the opening half of Area Soccer tonight on the radio.

So the Hornets, this is actually

free kick going to be laid inside the 45 yard line.

Getting into River Valley territory.

There's a long kick.

Head or try trying to maybe help that ball in toward the net and it goes across the goal line.

No good and the keeper will bring it out again for River Valley.

1-0 the Blackhawks lead.

We have around seven minutes remaining in the first half.

We will be right back with more from WRCO Sports.

quote from the leaders in the field.

Welcome back to a biters rip field one nothing river valley in the advantage here thanks to our sponsors of area high school sports both these teams working hard tonight and the fans have been enjoying a close game both teams trying to get the advantage river valley has the one goal and they had a near miss not too long ago or it's trying to put it up in the front

and intended for Connor Solz, it's going to be headed out of bounds by River Valley and the Hornets will have the ball again.

They'll have that on a throw in over on the far side near the RV bench.

Ball is going to be dropped in.

Played on the left side and the Hornets now taking their time trying to find the range looking for Mata.

Boouched away by River Valley and the Hornets try to keep it going here on the right side.

looking for Connor Stoltz back to the middle looking for Sean Adams deflected by River Valley it goes to the far side and David Garcia picks it up for the Blackhawks going to drive it across the line and it's going to elude the header drive by Nelson and roll into the open field so Burkhammer will pick up on the dribble a lot of green here as he brings it up near midfield tries to drive it across the

midfield line, it carams off a River Valley player and then off a Richland Center player and River Valley will have the ball at the center flag with a throw in.

Tyson Luther throws it in for the Black Oaks.

Ball headed again right away by the Horts and out of bounds.

Protecting the house, Henry Martin.

Here's a throw in again by River Valley looking downfield for Diver and he can't control it, it goes out of bounds and Richland Center will have the throw in.

Not going to be too much on the ball headed by River Valley and the ball out of bounds.

Hornets will try again.

Down around four minutes remaining here in the first half.

Short throw in and now the Hornets try to boom that one across looking for Stoles.

Header by Kane of River Valley.

Kane back to David Garcia in the middle.

Andrew Mada fighting for position for the Hornets gets the ball back and gets called as well.

That'll be a dead ball and a Hawks.

with an extra opportunity.

Hornet scrambled back on the defense and Tyson Luther will start this in place around the 35 yard line and comes up with a

long

kick that ball bounds near the header try and it goes out of bounds.

River Valley had it set up quite nicely there.

Tyson Luther started it with a really long kick down to the goal line but the Black Rocks couldn't hook up on that one.

And it goes out about 315 remaining here in the first half.

River Valley's goal by Phillip off a corner kick coming at 29-19 here.

That's the only score.

Here's the approach by the Horitz.

Ball is going to be up near the midfield line and Stoltz tries to head it across.

It's knocked out a bounce by River Valley quickly.

Throwing it in now is Martin looking for Stoltz.

Don't get away from the defender now speeding his way down and takes a shot.

It's going to be defended by River Valley and the ball rolls out of bounds, but I believe a offside.

So let's see what the call is.

No, it's going to be called against River Valley and the Hornets have a golden opportunity right now for a possible tying kick.

Clock running 225 remaining in first half action.

Official showing Andrew Montaware to

lay down the ball.

So the ball is inside the 18 and Mada will start from the near side and brings it to the left side.

Hornets trying ahead or trying to get it down near the goal line and it's headed but out of bounds across the goal line.

It'll come back to River Valley.

River Valley's keeper Dylan Perry, his goal goalie Jersey is orange.

So he kind of blends in with the original center players.

When everything is down and tight in front of the net, a minute 44 remaining in the first half.

Long kick out near midfield, played by the Horitz, played by the Hawks, and now the Horitz trying to head it up near Stoltz on the near side, knocked down by River Valley.

Ball comes back now to Nelson, catered back to Mada.

Mada stops, loses his defender as he cuts to the left.

Defended by River Valley, marked over to the right side and driven up near midfield.

and Nelson keeps it in play.

Gets it across the 50 and now back to the Hornets.

Mada, Hornets on the run, giving it back now to the near side, taking a shot.

Now it's deflected and a nice deflection by Thomas of River Valley.

The ball rolls near side and out of bounds.

It'll belong to the Blackhawks on the throw in with less than a minute remaining here in a 1-0 first half.

So the Blackhawks

Throw it in.

Missing the header try was Adams.

Ball up near midfield.

Adams gets it back to the middle and now Martin bringing it right down the bulldog.

Knocked down and driven out by Abbott.

Nice defense up to midfield.

Luther drives it across and looking for Diver.

He's wide open.

Got a one on one with a goalie.

Gets around federally and then rolls one into the net.

But I believe the Paul, it's going to be called an offside.

She got around federally and then

Took a long shot.

Ball comes out now for the Hornets on the kick out near midfield.

River Valley had a golden opportunity there.

Cody Pauls with the ball.

So one last-ditch effort here in the first half, 10 seconds.

They're going to drive it down inside the box.

The ball rolls down near the goal line, and letting it go across is still in period.

The whistle sounded.

That'll do it for the first half.

First 40 minutes of soccer.

River Valley with a 1-0 lead here at halftime.

You're listening to Southwest Wisconsin Conference Soccer from WRCO and WRCO.com.

And Clement Weather is coming up this weekend, Friday, especially Friday night, and a few teams and athletic directors have been proactive.

As far as their outdoor activities and football games on Friday night, I talked to bound Wisconsin's Travis Wilson about that this week.

Yeah, I think lightning is a big concern potentially later in the evening on Friday.

I think there's also field conditions concerns, which usually are not enough to move a game.

But if it's really wet and as wet as they're talking, where it could be two or three inches, that could tear up your field for a long time.

And there's a lot of season laps.

So there were more teams that were proactive about it.

Honestly, I think some of it comes out of the COVID season back in 2021, when teams had to be flexible and had to learn to adjust on the fly.

Before that, you almost never saw games moved, at least proactively.

And since then, I think people realized, hey, we can be a little flexible.

We can be a little proactive if there's things that are potentially going to impact, especially weather-wise.

So if it works, to be able to get everybody in line, to be able to get transportation lined up, your workers, your officials, if there's no other events going on at your school, all those kinds of things have to line up to be able to move it.

But we are seeing definitely a lot more people being proactive than we ever used to.

Phil Nee

Travis Wilson of Bound, Wisconsin.

Stay tuned for details on teams that may be moving their games a bit earlier on Friday.

Richland Center is scheduled to go to Lancaster tomorrow night.

Coach Andrew Trox will talk to us this week about that crazy game the Hornets played last Friday night.

They scored 39 points and lost.

You know it's been a while since we've been in that situation.

And you kind of get the feeling how things are going to go in that first quarter.

And I remember coming over to the sideline and talking to our offensive line saying, all right, boys, the team with the ball last is going to seal the deal with this thing.

We are going to shoot out tonight.

And they said, all right, OK, if that's what we got to do, then so be it.

So it was nice to see offensive production on that scale.

I know we've been so close in the last few weeks, right?

But offensively, it was just a

It was a great performance all the way around.

I mean, QB play was solid, running backs, choose one.

They all had good games, right?

Offensive line.

We're able to establish their domination in the trenches, you know, and so, you know, when you put 39 points against the team, it's always a good day, you know, and especially a team like Platteville who historically we've struggled to have production with, you know, I mean, something's moving in the right direction.

Phil Nee

What about the numbers?

Anything stick out on the stat sheet with your offense?

Yeah, overall, I mean, this was the most productive game of the season for us.

We had 361 total yards, 239 on the ground and then 122 in the air.

You know, Bronson Perkins had a career day, 140 yards, two touchdowns.

You know, in the red zone, Cain Stibby, two touchdowns, was able to punch it in.

You know, that Avery McGlenn that was able to tuck it away.

I'm a 37 yard scramble for a TD.

You know, and then when you have a strong established run game, that really opens up some big explosive plays through the air.

So that was nice to see Tate have a really good day in the air.

Bronson and Keisen had a good day receiving, you know, so just collectively all the way around.

It was just nice to see a lot of targets that capitalize on the opportunities that they were given offensively.

Phil Nee

What are some things that you take from that that you need to work on for this week?

Yeah, we had a nice conversation over the weekend at our staff meeting just about defense.

and and how we need to share that up to eliminate some confusion you know because our Achilles heel has been the big play you know and we look at schematics i mean we we were there right it's a miss tackle here there right it's lack of communication you know between this one kid this one time right and we just kind of got caught into it so um you know it's this part of the game right you're going to have breakdowns here and there in the high school kids are going to make mistakes you know but i mean we got to make sure that we don't

just give things away.

We make the opponent earn it.

Phil Nee

That's Richland Center football coach Andy Troxell.

His team is at Lancaster tomorrow evening.

That's it for the Dairyland Transportation High School Sports Update.

River Valley in the lead by a score of 1-0 here after 40 minutes of soccer.

The lone goal came off a corner kick.

Virgil Villa putting it in the net for the Blackhawks and they are up 1-0 on the Hornets.

Both keepers have had their share of good plays.

Dylan Perry in net for River Valley and Caleb Federley for Richland Center.

Federley just a little bit ago stopped a really tough shot.

goal attempt by James Dibert of River Valley.

So stopped it from being two to nothing and one of the plays of the night defensively for the Hornet defense.

River Valley on the other hand has had a little bit more offense going.

They've been able to get a few things into original center territory but to the Hornet defense's credit.

They've been able to respond for the most part tonight and the Hornets just really not getting in sync and trying to find the forwards and they've not been able to

kind of cracked the code and that River Valley defense here thus far on the night.

Well, they'll switch sides, Richland Center to our right, River Valley to our left in the second half, and it's coming up next after this two minute timeout.

It is a 1-0 lead for River Valley.

The Black Hawks and the White and Black Hornets and the Orange and Black getting it going here tonight in front of a good crowd and a beautiful night for soccer.

Mada with a ball at midfield drops it off.

Hornets trying to get some offense going.

Coming on the near side and looking for Martin.

Martin and Sean Adams are there and now is knocked down by River Valley and the Black Hawks.

Again have an answer they're gonna leave it up there in the air trying to get one of the forwards catch up with it And here comes federally out of the net and he'll drive it up near midfield Black locks were trying to get started with Garcia on the near side It'll go back now on the kick across midfield River Valley Responding and bringing it up near midfield.

They'll open company defended by the horse out of bounds Josh Nelson has had a good game tonight on the defense along with

his friends.

We're going to have River Valley throw it in here on the stadium side.

That ball caroms up on the middle of the field now across and now trying to get a handle on it is Aguilar and Aguilar collides there with one of the Hornets out of bounds.

It'll be laid down and the Hornets will have the ball, a dead ball just inside the touch line on the stadium side and the Hornets

We'll get going here on the offense trying to get something started here get a little spark going So here comes the approach and Cody Paul leaves it up for grabs up near the 30 on the River Valley side going to be driven back to the midfield by the Black Hawks played by Aguilar Aguilar has it taken away by Nelson and he is going to be stopped there is a

heavily called against the Hornets.

So it will be River Valley Ball, dead ball right around the 50, the midfield line, and RV will get it going again.

Number nine is Tyson Luther.

Luther will start it in play and he has a couple of his nearest friends behind him there on defense.

And the free kick from the 50.

He's going to try to lob it up over the top of everybody and now played inside going one on one, taking a shot, got it in.

That was James.

Divert.

Nice job by the Hawks as they score goal number two as they got it in from the long kick from midfield.

They had it all set up very nicely and Divert does the rest and puts it in the net for the Black Hawks.

Well played and they're up 2-0 here with just almost four minutes into the contest here in the second half.

To nothing, River Valley will be right back in a moment with more from WRCO Sports.

Welcome back River Valley with the goal up two to nothing in the Southwest Wisconsin Conference game and they're going to try to lob it through right away again to Aguilar Aguilar spinning down the near side blocks the defense protects the ball and now pops it back to Edward Edward Thomas and Thomas takes a long shot into the night wide of the goal post and into the track area it comes back for a goal kick for the Hornets and Caleb Federley nicely set up there

on the previous play by the Blackhawks.

A couple of substitutions early on in this half here tonight.

Both coaches substituting quite freely here.

So here we go after the subs are made River Valley with a throw in all is going to

Thropped down in the middle and now stepping in and taking a long shot of the near side and missing across the goal line was David Garcia.

Soccer action tonight on the filmy flip phone Flatville Lancaster leading dodge point 1-0 in the second half.

As Coach Corey Schmidt mentioned, a Flatville Lancaster it seems like almost always a team to be.

Ball comes in place, stolen at close range again by Edward Thomas.

Thomas bringing it right down the middle, drops it over the left side looking for Divert, and now catching up with it is Schultz.

Schultz says it deflected out of bounds by the Hornets River Valley still with good field position.

They'll have a throw in near their bench on the far side of the field.

Six minutes into the second half here at a virus repeal.

River Valley with a throw in.

There's a header by the Hornets.

Bringing it back to the middle.

Knocked down.

Now Mata steps in the middle.

Mata tries to get it around the defender.

Now tripped up and play is stopped.

It'll come back to the Hornets on a dead ball.

Andrew Mata will pick up on it.

Tomorrow night Rich from the Center at Lancaster on WRCO radio.

That's our featured game of the week.

We'll have another game on Saturday, Brookwood and Ithaca in high school football.

We look forward to that call.

That's a one o'clock game time this year at Ithaca Homecoming.

There's a long kick by the Hornets clearing it out, going to the right side, trying to set something up.

Adams there protecting the ball, drives it short route, looking for the near side.

The Hornets got it inside the box, something looking.

Sean Adams knocked down by River Valley and it rolls out near Garcia.

Hornets try to keep it going their way.

Stoltz and Mada down around the top of the 18 right side taking a shot.

The Hornets oh deflected and out of bounds by Dylan Perry.

Hornets had a good look at it.

It will be a quarter kick though as he went across a goal line after being touched by the keeper.

So set up well and some good teamwork inside the 18 by Adams and Stoltz and Mada.

and Nelson, good teamwork, and it will be Richmond Center starting it with a corner kick.

So from the near side, here's the approach and for the Horns, he'll get it in front of the box.

It's going to be knocked over on the left side.

I don't know if anybody touched it.

Hornets catch up with it and they'll keep it in bounds.

RC taking a little bit of a shot left side.

It goes far across the goal line.

Just a few feet to the left of the near side pole, and it goes out of bounds.

So it'll come back for River Valley on this goal kick.

Reedsburg has defeated Portage Pointette 10-2 tonight in soccer as well.

Volleyball action, a final.

Brooklyn has swept Royal tonight.

Filmy flip phone sponsored by Y Connect Wireless.

Here at RCHS, it is 2-0 River Valley.

Black Hawks will throw it in right near the center flag.

Ball up in the air.

They're attending it for Aguilar.

It's defended by the Hornets and that ball goes out of bounds.

It'll come back to River Valley with a throw in.

So they again have pretty good field position as they try to get in line.

Here comes the throw in looking for Aguilar.

Knocked out by the Hornet defense.

Falls is there.

Knocked down by River Valley and they'll bring it out near the midfield.

The Hornets trying to clear it out with Sean Adams.

Adams has a little space now.

Moving up toward the midfield line.

Lost it for a moment.

Pushed back now by Edward Thomas.

Left side.

Hornets defense stands there looking again for Adams.

Coming up through the middle.

Adams trying to get around the defender.

Defended by River Valley.

Pushed to the left side.

Now stolen by the Hornets.

They're getting it down for a look.

Trip up and there is the call.

Down around the top of the box on the play Shawn Adams and company had something hot and happening and there's going to be a dead ball and It looks like a pre-kick.

It's going to be Andrew Mata To do the honors wanted to try to get on the board here.

We're nearly 10 minutes into the second half They trail two to nothing Andrew Mata gets the look

with the ball laying down about 20 yards away from the net.

Here's his approach, lifts it up, and it's going to be played by the keeper.

Perry is there, knocked down again, wanted to try to get it loose from him and could not.

So well played by Dylan Perry, the River Valley keeper.

He'll pop this one way across the midfield line, and it's going to be played now on the run.

by Garcia.

Garcia keeps it in Browns along the touch line, trying to feed it into Aguilar.

That was a good opportunity, but defended by Nelson and the Hornets pop it out of bounds.

Here's the throw at Jordan Johnson.

Also nice play on that one.

Ball goes left side.

River Valley has it top of the 18.

Hornet defense is trying to get through.

Here's a long shot missed for Phillip and out of bounds across the goal line.

So good help by the Hornet defense hanging in there.

Keep it a River Valley at bay Looks like Jordan Johnson is going to exit and into the lineup for River Valley now Andrew Melby And the Hornet defense will start it in play again trailing to nothing in this one There's a long one into the night over on the right side going to be played now by Stoltz trying to keep it in bounds lights against the defender gets it along the far side not about last

Touched by River Valley, it will be Richland Center with a throw in right near their bench.

Players resuming and moving to the other side and Richland Center will throw it in.

Here's a short throw in.

Mata gets the header.

Ball stays in bounds in front of the Hornet bench.

River Valley makes the play.

Marks it, now gives it up to the left side.

They're going to get some offense all of a sudden.

Thomas and Phillip, deflected by Richland Center.

Hornets fighting resistance.

Sean Adams gets away from the center.

He still got possession and then Rose went into the hands of the keeper.

Sean Adams with a shot, which is not to be.

All cleaned out by the keeper.

Perry, that one goes almost three quarters of length of the field and River Valley is going to get on that one and try to pop one.

into the net.

Diver missed it just to the left of the post and it goes out of bounds.

It'll belong to the Hornets on a goal kick.

River Valley quick in transition.

Well you've got a keeper that can put it about three-quarter length of the field and that certainly help matters.

So here comes Richland Center on to the chance to

Clean it out and get something going.

Ball is going to bound along the far side.

Trying to keep it in bounds.

He is stole.

Ball rolls out of bounds.

It will be played by River Valley again.

Tyson Luther will throw it in for the Hawks just across the midfield line.

It flags.

He looks it over and now here comes the whistle and the throw in by River Valley.

They're going to look toward the inside.

They're looking for a Vergara.

Ball is deflected at close range by the Hornet defense.

Still up for grabs and now it's going to be popped out of there by Buick over to the far side out of bounds.

It will be River Valley with a throw in again near their bench.

Blackhawks getting the opportunity now to throw it in.

Here's the long throw deflected by the Hornets.

River Valley working it toward the top of the 18 now.

They will get a look.

There's a long one wide and high.

The goal and across the goal line out of bounds.

Virtual center with a keeper kick again.

River Valley has spent a lot of time at this end of the field this evening.

So the Hornets will clean it out and River Valley will get set.

Cody Pauls has had a good game tonight.

Ball cleaned out by River Valley again, getting it a close range.

Ball takes it away, brings it over to the near side.

Cody keeps it in bounds, looking for Henry Martin.

Back to Josh Nelson, up near midfield River Valley, takes it away, quick pass now to Divert.

James getting inside, ball deflected, shot and goal number three for River Valley.

Getting one in there.

Divert had the close look and the ball rolled over to the near side and

Number 20, Victor Vergara is the winner of that one and River Valley puts it in the net.

So that one comes at, or is it?

No, they're not going to count it.

Goal is not counted there.

The officials came right in and signaled.

Must have been offside so no goal and the ball will be resumed now as Richeln Center cleans it out 2-0 score stays and my first indication was the clock was still running because it will stop on goal and This would not have bounced on the far side, so it stays 2-0 in favor of River Valley We have about 25 minutes left to play in the game Here's a throw in by the Black Hawks

They're looking for Vergara again and it's going to be left in the open field.

Hornets clean it out near midfield again.

Richland Center defending, getting around on the far side and out of bounds.

It'll be Richland Center with a throw in.

They're going to try to keep it going here.

Keep a little momentum deflected by Valley out of bounds again.

Richland Center with the throw in.

Now the Hornets try to bring it along the far side, deflected again by the Blackhawks.

Hornets throw it in again.

Getting in a little bit closer each time Defended by the Blackhawks dice and Luther or it's closer to get it a close range Barside Stoltz Stoltz drives around two tacklers and now played by River Valley up near midfield Blackhawks step in motion across the midfield line and they're just gonna leave it up for grabs and try to get Vergara with the ball Coming out is less nicely nicely played by federally cleans it over on the wide side of the field nothing going on

And that went out of bounds, but it gets the defense caught up.

Whistle sounds, and I believe we will have a River Valley substitute coming in here.

Volleyball final this evening.

Seneca with a win over North Crawford.

Three sets to none.

Whistle Center and Lancaster tied at one in high school volleyball tonight.

Hornets playing on the road.

So here comes a throw in by River Valley.

Tyson Luther drops into the middle and played by the Hornets and driven out of bounds here.

They're defending it as well as they can.

The Hawks have just been pounding away here at the defense.

Here comes Luther with a throw in.

There's a header there by Phillip.

Phillip gets it to the back side.

That's going to be played nicely by Federally the Keeper.

Rolls it out.

Ritual Center picks up on the action.

They've got a potential something going.

They're going to thread the needle on the far side looking for Stoles on his back heel and River Valley takes it up to midfield again.

Hornets will try again.

Nelson and company putting it up to the right side intended for Stoles letting him too far and out of bounds.

River Valley will have a throw in now with 23 minutes remaining.

in the second half.

They lead it to nothing and we will be right back with more from WRC Radio Sports.

Welcome back River Valley has the lead two to nothing in this one as action continues play resumes and the Hornets with the ball it's going to be up near the midfield line header by River Valley pushed to the right side by Abbott trying to get it in the path of Seth Galt now Richland Center steals at a close range Caden Nelson drops it back to Wesley Adams Adams cross midfield back to the left side and Nelson

Nelson defended well Maxwell Bond it takes it away, but the valley is going to be called at midfield Got the hook on the way by so it goes back to the Hornets ride at midfield and the play will resume I will grant up on Southwestern to nothing in high school volleyball tonight on the filmy flip phone sponsored by why connect wireless Cody Paul's puts a toe into one charges one to the right side and looking for the middle

Ashtabulak is the closest there.

It's going to be out of bounds off of River Valley.

It's what Federer tries again.

There's a little feed right in front of the net.

Header goes into the net.

Did it go in?

It was almost chance for an own goal there as River Valley did the header.

And it was saved by Dylan Perry.

So it almost went in the goal and almost an own goal on River Valley's part.

So the Black Oaks dodge a bullet there and the Hornets kept from staying on the board.

We're going to have a penalty again.

Looks like a River Valley dead ball free kick for Richland Center, I should say.

And it's going to be Cody Paul's.

So Cody, a good one out there to get it started.

The Hornets trying to get on the board here.

Cody looks it over.

Here's the approach and Cody drills it through.

That one is going to be caught.

by the keeper, Dylan Perry.

Dylan playing well here tonight.

Brings it out long range across the midfield line and that'll hop a couple of times.

Good strong kick.

Hornets jump back on it.

Cody Pauls and comedy taking it across midfield.

Pauls dumps it off.

Martin right side back to Pauls.

Hornets on the attack and now Pauls collides with the River Valley player.

The ball rolls loose and kept in play now by Caden Nelson.

Kaden drops it back, Cody Paul, fancy footwork driving, and get it inside the box, knocked down by River Valley.

Top of the 18 and the Blackhawks clear it all the way across midfield.

And a one hopper there, close to the Gara.

Played now by Aguilar.

Aguilar protecting the ball with the body, gets around a defender, and now look out, Hornets back on the race.

and they're bringing it River Valley.

We'll get a shot near the 18.

There's a tough one that goes wide to the right and no good for Cameron Lilla.

Scores days 2-0, Richland Center will have the ball.

Caleb Federle lays it down from the kick and Cody Pauls will start it in play.

Hornets up ahead.

Cody Paul's looks it over gets the whistle Want to try to put something together River Valley scoring a goal in each half so far Long kick by Paul's out of bounds at midfield and it will come back to the Blackhawks Tyson Luther will start it in play for River Valley Tyson Makes the call and now here's the approach long throw right in the middle of the action and the Hornets

Pound it out on the header back near midfield.

Tyson will lob that one up for grabs again inside the box 18.

Now here goes Divert.

It's going to be hit now deflected by the Hornets and out of bounds.

Defended by Harrison Carpenter, I believe, when the ball comes to the corner and a corner kick for River Valley.

This is how they stored their first goal tonight.

Football action in the second quarter.

Royale leads new Lisbon.

28 to 14.

So River Valley with a corner kick on the near side, just over 17 minutes remaining in tonight's contest.

Southwest Wisconsin Conference volleyball coming your way tonight.

Good to see our area merchants and businesses in the Richland Center and River Valley areas.

Alright, here we go from the corner.

Play will resume.

River Valley will try to put it in play Doing the honors is Aguilar checks the ball lays it down everybody into position the Hawks trying to score again the Hornet defense jam packing Right at the net

Taking a lot of time and now here we go.

There's the approach that one angles toward the top blocked out by Gall that comes back to River Valley in the corner and here is Aguilar trying to get around the defense Chases it down to the corner and that one across the goal line again.

So River Valley will take two here 17 minutes remaining in the half to nothing black box Julio Aguilar with a hand up for the black box and here's a long kick

Left side oh head or try close range miss there for Phillip and the Hornets will get it back time out now the whistle.

Sounds more substitutions coming into this game to nothing River Valley leading Richland Center at WRCO and WRCO dot com.

Do nothing.

River Valley leaving here an area of soccer action.

Hornets with the ball as we get back to it.

Richland Center coming down the boulevard there.

Ball knocked down for the moment and now picked up fighting for the ball and the Hornets there is a scramble for the ball and finally one of the Hornet players falling on the ball and River Valley penalized here.

The Hornets are going to drop it down.

They've got a golden opportunity now again with looks like Sean Nelson.

Josh Nelson, I should say.

Josh Nelson with a ball, lays it down around the 20 yard line.

Dead ball time and now the Haunts with a chance for a kick for a goal.

Here's a long one over the top of everyone.

That went wide and into the night and back to the Blackhawks.

It will go.

Action tomorrow night, Richland Center and Lancaster.

Keep it tuned here because if there are updates, if they do change the time, and I think that would be up to Lancaster High School, but we will let you know that.

Otherwise, it's a seven o'clock start time.

Several games in the area, Riverdale and Pecotonica Argyle moved up to six o'clock tomorrow night, which I think is a good move.

Kicked by the goalie, no good.

Knockdown on the near side by

The River Valley Blackhawks, as they get it going, they're going to try to thread the needle.

Wow, knocked down.

They had Divert flying the other way, and the Hornet defense responds.

Taken away left side, and a nice play there by Kate and Nelson, and the ball popped up across the midfield line.

Staying with it is Sean Adams.

Sean, drop it back to Henry Martin, and now Connor Stoltz.

Picks up on the dribble over on the RC side, now Stoltz.

Around right side tries to pooch a short kick River Valley intercepts They'll keep it in bounds Now a strum for the ball out of bounds on the far side River Valley will throw it in play Or it's have had a couple of legit shots Resulting in touches by the keeper Dylan Perry in the second half

So some shots on goal that have not gone and River Valley will throw it in across the touch line.

Hedder tried by the Blackhawks as they try to work that thing across the midfield line.

Aguilar lobbing it over the top of everyone.

Divert the main man over there on the far side.

Divert nice dribble move moves back to the left side and River Valley looking over the field.

Blackhawks.

With Lilla getting around the defender trying to drop it inside the box and then drilled out of bounds by Andrew Melby of Richland Center River Valley will have the ball right around The top of the 18 out of bounds at least parallel with that and they will throw it in number nine Tyson Luther does the honors and the Hornets getting into The defense trying to guard the lanes here comes

A long one, centering bash, intended for Aguilar, and it's knocked out of bounds.

I believe, see if the hornets touched it last, if so, it'll be a corner kick, and it appears that it will be.

They're gonna send number four Garcia over to the far corner to do the honors, or will they?

Nope.

Edward Thomas hustling up from

Way back and he's gonna set it up with a corner kick or attempt to just less than 12 minutes remaining here in tonight's varsity soccer matchup So Thomas with a hand up and now pops this one good angling kick header try there by Divert all rolls to the near side and now played by a River Valley kept in bounds Lilla turns in around the defender and Adam takes it away, but the play is stopped

and Richland Center.

Guilty here on the near side of the penalty so it'll be dropped down again on the near side and the Hawks will have the ball just inside the touch line right in the corner with just over 11 minutes remaining in action here tonight.

From WRCO Sports, a 2-0 River Valley lead.

After much debate the Hornets will get the ball.

So Cody Paul will start it in play from the near side RC trying to get something started here offensively ball up near midfield River Valley's Maxwell Bond pops it off a header to Garcy and that ball straight into the night and it rolls to the right side and Stoltz is going to pick up on it gets it away from the defender drives to the right side keeps it in bounds Connor Stoltz almost hooked on the way by tries to get a shot and it will be taken by the goalie

Dylan Perry makes the play and Perry will pop it the other way.

For the Blackhawks, it high hops and now a header on the near side coming down the Boulevard is Aguilar and he is stopped by the Hornet defense.

Good hustle by RC getting back on the defense to make the play and now the ball caroms along to the near side.

Yeah, that could have been another disaster there.

Good hustle by Andrew Melby.

Coming in from the right side and the ball deflected on the out-of-bounds line near the Hornet bench.

It looks like Richland Center will have it on a throw in.

Kate and Nelson, I think, helping out on that as well.

Sometimes tough to see numbers when they're that far away and soccer numbers, as I've complained before, are small in the front of the jersey and big on the back.

You can see them when they have their back to you, not so easy when they're running towards you.

Here's a throw in, and now down near the goal line, the Hornets have it knocked out of bounds by River Valley, so what results is a corner kick for Richland Center right now.

I think, let's see.

Officials, nope, now saying it's going to be a goal kick for River Valley.

They're going to bring it back in play.

Volleyball tonight, Riverdale has sweat basketball.

Football action, Verroqua and Westby are tied at six at halftime.

Looks like the National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for some areas tomorrow.

Heavy rain prompting that.

Tim P. will check a little bit more about that later tonight.

Ball around the midfield line.

Hornets will get it.

Looks like a dead ball and a kick.

Free kick coming up in front of the Hornet bench.

About 8.30 remaining.

Here's a long kick that went over the top.

It's going to be knocked down by River Valley's defense.

Cleared out by Anders Preston.

Over to the corner.

Hornet stay with it.

RC trying to make a move.

Drop it back to the near side and now looking.

Stoles near side.

Bumps his way.

Keeps control.

Keeps possession.
