Earl Ingram, Civic morning show host, joins us as cohost. As we reflect on the Supreme Court election in Wisconsin, we consider good. We celebrate the victory of democracy in selecting Susan Crawford to be our next Justice while rejecting oligarchy and authoritarianism. At the same time, this was the most expensive judicial race in American history. With around $100 million spent on this race, we wonder how much good we could have done with that money invested in our community rather than on mud slinging ads and endless pieces of mail. Especially when federal funding cuts continue to pummel the most vulnerable amongst us. Today, we learn that Wisconsin food banks will lose millions of dollars from USDA cuts. This hurts Wisconsin. And it's only 2% of the cost of the election. Why can't we work together for good???
And on the matter of Tuesday's election... we've got another bout of deniers. It's not those pesky Milwaukee ballots this time. No, now it's the old favorite: mail in ballots. I know you can't see it, but we're rolling our eyes real hard.
