One day last week we were talking about something and I made a comment and you said, well, two things can be true.
And that is more and more important as we move forward with the developments of what happened over the weekend in Iran because the Republicans and the MAGA hawks and the Trump...
Neophytes
are
all saying that if you criticize this operation at all you are supporting the Iranian Khomeini regime and Those two things could not be more diametrically opposed.
Hey, I think most rational people would say that that regime did need to go The the cruelty the the way their people were being true.
Everything was wrong that that regime had to go.
That's fine
the part that most people here are complaining about is the president once again bypassed all laws.
He did not consult Congress.
He did not, he went about this and did it on his own.
He gave no rationalization either in the State of the Union, which happened just a few days before.
I know it all gets lost in the tsunami of garbage that comes at us, but he didn't mention it.
There was no imminent threat that they could prove.
Our intelligence agencies had said there was no evidence that Iran had nuclear weapons, because if you remember, Jamie, we totally obliterated that program in the summer.
Well, I think that's the part that for a lot of people we're trying to reason because we were told just a few months ago that in the first round of attacks that all of those nuclear sites, the underground nuclear sites, the above ground, everything was completely gone.
And now they were able to rebuild that quickly.
That would be the question because let's be realistic.
When I say that, I'm being facetious.
I know, and you know, and most of our listeners know.
that there is no way that any nation could rebuild those facilities that quickly in order to be that type of threat to carry out the type of attacks that we saw over the weekend from the United States.
They double and tripled down that said, any reports you hear is a perfect gaslighting move.
Any reports you hear to the contrary were completely false.
Well, what is it?
and he won't answer that question he won't get in front of the press he's cosplaying down in Mar-a-Lago which is another just baffling to me that he is this is the second time that he is called a bombing from his little pillow fort down in Mar-a-Lago and then instead of addressing the nation he prerecords something and puts it on a truth social where
Most of us are not.

during this administration have been on the weekends because they are hoping that in the midst of you enjoying your weekend and while the president is also enjoying his weekend carrying out some of these acts, you are not
Not noticing anything that's happening.
It's like the shiny object.
Don't look over here because this is what's actually happening.
You just go enjoy your weekend.
It's actually maddening.
And then to hear the reports that in the midst of all of this, why service members were being attacked on US bases, why civilians were being killed.
This president continued to basically have a major fundraiser with some of his wealthiest donors at Mar-a-Lago over the weekend, and that is just, you know, I'm running out of adjectives to describe how maddening it actually is.
This has been...
for all his bluster and all his hugging flags and kissing up to the military, he doesn't care about anybody or anything.
And if we go back, and we'll go through a timeline of what happened, and we'll get to all of this and we'll talk to you because this is, and we're gonna, later we're gonna hear from Howard Schraber, we're gonna talk about the constitutionality of this.
We're also going to find out what
what the future will hold for Iran.
What does this mean?
Because now Iran is saying, hey, guess what?
We're not negotiating anything with you people.
So this is backfired a little bit.
But this is the same guy who in 2024 pledged to us, pledged that we would not be going to war.
And I'm not, this is not me saying

I'm not sure that that holds much water this morning based on what we're seeing.
You know, and here's the thing.
If you think of what was happening over the weekend, if you were following along and that seems bad enough, let's tell you where we're at right now as of this Monday morning as these reports start coming in.
168 girls were killed at a girls elementary school in Iran.
Three US jets were shot down over Kuwait by friendly fire.
according to SETCOM.
555 people have now been killed by U.S.-Israeli attacks, according to the Iranian Red Crescent Society.
And as you mentioned, now the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran saying that they refuse to negotiate with the United States because of the president.
And his because this all right here's just we're not gonna go through obviously the entire history of Iran and the Middle East and the conflicts with the US But let's just go back a couple of months.
Let's go back to November when November 7th Donald Trump said Iran had requested that Washington remove its crippling sanctions on Tehran and is willing to talk and that he was willing to talk about those issues
Then at the end of December, right before the New Year, protests broke out in major cities, including Tehran, over soaring prices after the rail plunged against the US dollar.
You remember that.
And you remember that we were having protests in this country where Donald Trump was calling out the military.
But on January 13th, he told the people in.
who were protesting in Iran to, quote, keep protesting, claiming, quote, help is on the way and, quote, and that the U.S.
may be preparing for military intervention against Iran.
And we began the U.S.
to bolster our presence over in that area.
Now we get to February.
Then by the end of February 22nd.
Yomon confirms another round of discussions at Geneva.
There was supposedly a positive push, but admit that there were still big differences.
Third round of talks concluded in Geneva on the 26th.
The mediator said there had been significant progress, but we know this president is very impetuous, like a young child.
And if he doesn't get his way immediately, that's what happens.
So then the foreign minister on the 27th said Iran has agreed to degrade its current stockpiles to the lowest level possible.
That is a quote.
Donald Trump said he prefers diplomacy but warns that all options remain open and then boom Israel launched a coordinated strikes on Iranian targets with the US's help with Qatar with the United Arab Emirates and Jamie again Manage was hard not to not to be a conspiracy theorist all weekend, but it sure seems like all those countries I just named have made
big gifts or donations
And they talk about it being completely underdeveloped, right?
They talk about it to us in the middle of press conferences.
in interviews, they tell us how valuable this land is.
And now here we are sitting here watching what's happening in Iran.
And on Israel side, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has...
for years viewed Iran as his country's biggest threat.
And of course, he tried to weaken their allies, Syria and Lebanon.
And Israel previously launched attacks on Iranian targets.
And so let's be honest, he's probably not innocent in a lot of this either.
And we know that Benjamin Netanyahu would love for nothing more than to see some of these countries
not be in existence to the point where he could just rule over all of it, right?
And so you start getting a little help from the United States and from some of your closest allies.
And here's the thing that I didn't understand.
This was an attack specifically on Iran over the weekend.
So why was there retaliation strikes happening all over the Middle East?
That was the other thing that I didn't understand.
I mean, we've seen retaliation.
attacks in Abu Dhabi, we've seen them in Kuwait, we've seen them all over.
It's the board of peace, it's the countries that I named earlier about that we're all kind of in conjunction with Israel and the U.S.
It's one group against another and there's been reports all weekend that this was Netanyahu's plan all along and he's tried to convince other presidents to do it.
whether you like them or not, none of the no other president went along with this plan.

Man, here's the thing that I think really bothers me the most.
I mean, a lot of Americans barely trust this, this, our administration, our own administration, right?
And now you start working alongside BB Netanyahu.
Is there actually a plan?
What's going to come next in all of this?
I don't know if there's a plan for de-escalation.
Are we just hoping this all settles itself?

A lot happened over the weekend.

We've already lost three American service members.
Thankfully, the jets that were shot down
accidentally by Kuwait.
Okay, those crews are okay.
They're in the hospital, but they're in stable condition.
They thankfully survived.
But we've lost three service members.
And Donald Trump seems very cavalier, and so does Lindsey Graham.
Boy, everybody who hasn't been to war is really cavalier about sending people back in, and Donald Trump went on, and I don't remember, in all the wars that I've witnessed in my lifetime, and it's way too many, that a president went out and went, hey listen, people are gonna die, that's the way it is in war, and there's gonna, hey, there's probably gonna be more, and he actually
Parker, that's cut too.
Earlier today, CENTCOM shared the news that three U.S.
military service members have been killed in action.
As one nation, we grieve for the true American patriots who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation, even as we continue the righteous mission for which they gave their lives.
We pray for the full recovery of the wounded and send our
immense love and eternal gratitude to the families of the fallen.
And sadly, there will likely be more.
Before it ends, that's the way it is.
Likely be more, but we'll do everything possible.
Shut up.
Well, that won't be the case.
What frightens me the most about all of this is that we have nobody
running this government.
We have nobody capable running this government.
And when we are talking about military bases with U.S.
troops being targeted, we need people who actually know how to do their job because that is what leadership looks like.
This is a drop everything, focus on the job sort of time, understand what is in front of you, understand that there are civilians and potential U.S.
military in harm's way.
get rid of your superlatives.
We don't care what you have to say at this point.
We need real government.
We need real leadership.
How about that?
Get in the real situation room.
Take off the stupid baseball cap that has your name on it and focus on business.
This is not a marketing time.
This is not a social media time.
This is a time to actually lead.
And unfortunately, you are exactly right.
There is nobody at the top of this administration
all the way through the cabinet, except for the military, nobody can lead.
I'm hoping that there are generals and long-time military career members who have a pulse on what's actually happening because it is not like Pete Hagseth is going to be able to make those major decisions in those crisis moments to keep people safe, to do the right thing.
And that is what should be so frightening.
And you know, here's the thing.
None of these people understand it.
It's like dealing with children.
Yes.
And we keep saying that because it is true.
Children act on their impulse.
And you all know everybody knows a person who doesn't think things through, who acts on their impulse.
And diplomacy is nothing if not slow
and
way
It'll be great.
John from Oshkosh chiming in listening on WISS this morning, he says Trump is or he is ushering in the Antichrist frame it that way and all of this makes sense.
You know, the thing that I keep going back to is the fact that let's for just a moment, if you're somebody who voted for Donald Trump.
Right?
And Barack Obama or Joe Biden partied it up all weekend at their second home.
If they played golf in the midst of all of these attacks and then just did these pre-recorded weird statements that came out on only one platform, would you be okay with that?
And yes, I get it.
We're going to what aboutism for just a moment.

And here we are and we're okay, well some of us are okay, with him sitting at Mar-a-Lago and doing all of the things that most people would have yelled and screamed and been so upset about, but it's okay because it's Donald Trump.
Those excuses are not excuses anymore.
Do your job.

Seems like a regime change in America would also be of significant benefit to the world.
I can't be the only one who's worried that some of these other countries are going to see how we are just deciding to take out regimes.
And this is not a call to action.
This is nothing.
It's a worry that I have that at some point somebody else is going to try that here because you can only be
a bully for so long, right, until you get punched in the face.
I just worry about how, you know, I'm old enough to remember and live through 9-11, right, and watching those attacks and things.
And Brian, I know you are too, Parker.
I know that's a little before your memory.
But at the same time, you also have to start thinking about the weakness that other countries are now seeing.
from our government.
And that really, really terrifies me just a little bit.

That is something he has said.

Representative Gwen Moore called the strikes lawless saying the administration bypassed Congress.
She warned of another forever war and is urging a vote.
on the war powers resolution.
Senator Tammy Baldwin said Iran is a threat but argued for diplomacy, not war, saying that is the answer.
She called these particular strikes unconstitutional without congressional approval and pushed for an immediate Senate vote.
Brian Stile, Representative Brian Stile, I should say, asked Americans to pray for U.S.
troops involved in what is now being called Operation Epic Fury.
Why do we have to name things?
Why does it have to be named like
I think I'm okay.
I think I'll stay right where I'm at.
Senator Ron Johnson supports the operation saying he hopes U.S.
forces can help liberate the long-suffering people of Iran.
We also have Representative Tom Tiffany, of course, front-runner for the Republicans, for the next governor.
He voiced support for U.S.
forces saying his thoughts are with American troops.
And then the Libertarian Party of Wisconsin also
put out a statement condemning the action as inconstitutional and warned against another costly foreign conflict.
Now, if you remember way back to the election.
way back, back to 2024, which seems like 100,000 years ago at this point.
I can't even think that far back.
The Libertarian Party, boy, Donald Trump had a really hard time convincing them to get on board with his campaign.
And I don't believe that that ended in super friendly terms.
And here we are, they're obviously not on board with some of the things that this current administration is doing, like Operation Epic Fury, which is, I feel like I'm playing
some sort of call of duty game.
Sounds pretty cool though.
It feels like it's call of duty and this is real life.
So Gwen Moore said she hopes that there will be a vote on the War Powers Act and that is supposedly going to happen because lawmakers are pushing for a vote under the War Powers Resolution after, you know, Donny's...
decision to have military strikes in Iran without congressional approval.
Now they're going to say, well, the gang of eight, we kind of told them that this might
be coming, but
So Ro Khanna, a Democrat from California is cosponsoring a measure to force a House vote and says he expects all Democrats and some Republicans to support it, including Thomas Massey, who has been very outspoken lately about about things.
He still has not read the names on the floor like he claimed
he was going
But I, again, just as a guy, as a human, as if I was elected to do a job, and suddenly it was made very clear to me that no one was going to listen to me.
And I was just supposed to capitulate with whatever the White House did and not stand up.
I don't know how you can look yourself in the mirror if you are a Republican in Congress now and know that you have abdicated all your responsibility to your constituents, the people who trusted you and put you in office.
You have abdicated that responsibility in homage to some blithering orange baboon who has no idea what he's doing.
And if you're not familiar, we're going to get into it a little bit more at 8.30 this morning with Professor Emeritus Howard Schwaeber.
He is a constitutional attorney, and he's going to walk us through some of this.
But if you're not familiar with the War Powers Act, it's a War Powers Resolution, I should say.
It was passed by Congress in 1973 over...
President Richard Nixon's veto after the Vietnam War.
It was designed to reign in presidential power and make sure Congress has a say before the U.S.
enters prolonged military conflict.
The law requires the president to notify Congress within 48 hours of deploying U.S.
forces into hostilities.
It also says military action must end within 60 days unless Congress formally declares war or authorizes the use of force.
Now this Constitution gives
Congress, not the president, the power to declare war.
But presidents of both parties have often pushed back on the War Powers Act, arguing that it really limits their authority as commander-in-chief.
And over the years, administrations have sometimes acted consistent with the law without formally invoking it.
Here's my thing with this.
The fact that this needs to come to a vote, and as of right now, we're seeing that this is going to come to a vote on Thursday on the floor.
Thursday.
Today is Monday.
But I get
what's gonna
happen, and you gotta see what this president is gonna do, because we know he makes all the best decisions, so we have to see how he's going to handle this, and how his administration is going to handle this.
But I don't trust Speaker Mike Johnson.
He's likely to do everything he can
can to prevent this from coming to the floor, including extending it out until a Thursday vote.
He could have reconvened everybody over the weekend.
He could have done that.
He could have reconvened and they could have had a vote yesterday.
But a vote in this case essentially forces member of Congress to just go on record.
And I think for a lot of people right now, especially as we look at midterms, that can be politically uncomfortable.
And even if somehow this would pass both chambers, it would almost certainly land on the
where you know he's going to veto it.
He's going to veto it.
It's not going to actually matter.
It would be a ceremonial vote at best.
If this is his way of, I don't know, trying to mess with the midterms or up his poll numbers or any of that, it's backfiring wildly.
And I know we don't put a lot of stock in polls, but sometimes you have to look at them and go, okay, there might be some truth behind this.
the majority of people, both Republican and Democrat, are against this move because they remember his promise.
And they remember all the Middle East situations we've been in before.
And this is not going to work, but it's also going to be a stretch for them to
for the administration to say, all right, we're sending troops into foreign hostilities, which is within my power, but what were the actual foreign hostilities?
We were, again, based on our own intelligence community, we were not at an imminent threat of attack.
Yes, the regime, again, and we'll keep saying that the regime had to go
at some
And being able to track him and take him out,
Great.
Okay.
And I applaud the military for that.
But if we are actually being the puppets of another country and being coerced into carrying their water of Israel and Qatar and everybody else who wants Iran erased from the map, that's where the problem lies.
And this is not going to go well for him.
And when you zoom out for a second, since the War Powers Act was passed in 1973.
presidents, Republican and Democrat have sidestepped this formal congressional delegation of war.
U.S.
forces have been deployed in dozens of countries without Congress ever officially declaring any sort of war.
You look at Reagan and what he did with Granada.
You look at H.W.
Bush who acted in Panama and Somalia.
Clinton ordered strikes in the Balkans and Haiti.
Even Obama launched operations in Libya and expanded drone campaigns.
And then, of course, we've seen President Trump carry out strikes in Syria and Iran in the past.
But in this particular case, this doesn't feel like an attack that is going to be short-lived, right?
This is not one that's gonna go in, it's going to take care of a few things and then we move on.
This feels like the type of act that...
essentially gets this country into another long Middle Eastern war.
Now, I'm hoping that's not going to happen.
And I totally agree that getting rid of the Ayatollah is not bad.
However, there is a succession plan there.
In fact, he put a successor in place just six days ago.
So now the question becomes what happens, right?
And this president has no plan.
Our current president has no plan for 60 days from now.
I'm not even sure he has a plan for the rest of today at this particular point.
Is he back at the White House?
Maybe his plan today includes coming back from Mar-a-Lago.
That might be his plan for the day.

Well, yes, because there's still a major cover up in the files.
We're not gonna

No, no, in this in this situation.
We've been monitoring obviously a number of news outlets CNN about three minutes ago reported that one of their teams had witnessed Iranian drone and Iranian drone flying overhead at the Iran-Iraq border.
And Hezbollah this coming in about nine minutes ago, Hezbollah just restarted
the fight with Israel because they opened, they sent some missiles to a missiles and a swarm of drones at a military base in northern Israel.
So yeah, man, you I they really didn't think this through Jamie.
But to
But you did it at the behest of other people.
You didn't have enough reason to even tell us after the fact.
I get you're not going to tell the American people about a military operation before it happens.
But to not talk to us after is one thing.
You don't have a plan.
You didn't think ahead.
Bibi didn't tell you, yeah, once you do this.
There's gonna be rockets everywhere.
Yeah.
There's gonna be missiles and drones and the whole, the whole region's gonna be at war.
You didn't think of that.
But they should have known that based on the fact, if they had actual, if they had an actual administration with people of experience in positions of power in this particular administration, they wouldn't need BB to tell them that.
they would just know to anticipate that.
So it's these minor little facts that we're gonna keep pointing out because this is how you escalate from, yes, killing the Ayatollah, again, we can agree that that's good, to all of a sudden, now we have commercial ports being attacked according to a CNN report as of a couple of minutes ago.
So this is where we're at this morning.
It's just us.
Now, this is an interesting story and we're going to switch gears just a tad bit.
And I think there's a little bit of a connection in this because it was surprising when it came out on Friday morning.
But the Pentagon, if you've got a boy scout or you were a boy scout, this is going to be intriguing to you, I think, because the Pentagon has struck a new agreement with scouting America aimed at preserving its century long relationship with the military, but with changes tied to their diversity policies.
So, on Friday, Defense Secretary Pete Higgseth said that the organization will move away from what he calls woke initiatives.
He
Higgseth says that scouting applications will list only male and female based on biological sex at birth and that youth of opposite sexes assigned at birth will not share tents or bathrooms.
Cowding America, which was formerly Boy Scouts, says transgender youth will continue to be part of the program and that the agreement does not change its existing inclusion policies, except it does.
You can tell me whatever you want.
But now you're asking kids who sign up or to basically choose their sex at birth, which does actually exclude them if they are transgender.
You're doing the exact opposite.
Now, as part of this deal, the group will eliminate its citizenship and
Merit Badge, introduce a new military service Merit Badge, waive registration fees for military families, and dissolve its DEI committee.
The Pentagon says it will review the partnership in around six months, and could pull support if the organization does not comply.
Scouting America in case you're wondering, currently serves about 900,000 young people nationwide, and it maintains deep ties to the armed forces.
A lot of Eagle Scouts go on to military service.

I know a number of people my future son-in-law is an Eagle Scout my cousin son is an Eagle Scout I remember going to those ceremonies.
It's a huge deal But it had I don't remember there being anything to do with the military in those in that To do away with a citizen a citizenship in society merit badge seems to go against everything

This is the problem I have, one of the many, with Pete Hegseth and his ilk.
What are these people so afraid of?
What happened to them that they fear any sort of inclusion?
Why does everything that they don't understand suddenly become the boogeyman and become woke and throwing everything under this?
Why is diversity...
and inclusion, why are those bad words?
It turns out they're scared of transgender, and they're also scared of women in military, and by the way, you just threw us into a military attack where those people might be needed.
Just throwing that out there.
