Betty L Sullivan, 96, of Woodruff, Wisconsin, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, March 22, 2026 at Friendly Village Rest Home in Rhinelander, Wisconsin.
Betty was born on September 12, 1929 to Luther and Mabel (Fankell) Johnson.
She spent her early years working in the tobacco fields proudly helping her father plant seeds. She married young and devoted her life to raising her children, a role she cherished deeply. Throughout her life, she lived in Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin, embracing each chapter with strength and resilience.
She found joy in life’s simple pleasures-traveling, gardening, cooking and enjoying the beauty of wildlife. Betty was a talented seamstress and worked in various roles throughout her life, including as a waitress, factory worker, and homemaker. She especially loved quilting and crocheting, often creating meaningful pieces for those she loved.
Though her life included its share of hardships, it was also filled with deep love, unwavering faith, and countless cherished moments with family. Betty’s faith in the Lord remained steadfast, guiding her through life and giving her peace in knowing she would be welcomed.
She will be dearly missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her four sisters, Maxine Miller, Virginia Carter, Orilla Maggard, and Eva Nell Burchett; three brothers, Ray Johnson, James “Jim” Johnson, and Harlan Wayne Johnson (infant); her children, Donald C. Sullivan and June Marie Anderson; and her grandchildren, Richard Robert Sullivan, Micki Lynn Pantti, and Jacob James Knight. She was preceded by one great-great-grandchild, Marcus Wendell Lindstrom.
Those left behind to cherish her memories are, John L. Sullivan (Shirley Skiles), Patricia Pantti (Wendell), Sandra Wadman (Mark), and James Robert Knight as well as 14 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will take place at the Cane Funeral Home in Ontonagon, MI on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 11 a.m. Friends may call at the funeral home 1 hour prior to the start of the service. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Rockland, MI in the spring.
