The Start of My Story, a Paul Harvey Tale

When I was young, my family had a big conversion van. My 3 older brothers and parents would pack into it every summer and head off from Kenosha; to Tennessee or Texas to see family, to see rodeos in Michigan and Missouri, and out west to see the sights of South Dakota.

No matter where we were, no matter the time-zone, in the Noon hour, we’d scan the AM dial to find that familiar voice.  Looking back, the search for Paul Harvey and The Rest of the Story made a big impact on me, probably leading to a career in radio and news.

While not sure on the date, I’m told Paul Harvey once broadcasted from historic Radio Park in Racine and the WRJN studios.  The program originally ran on the ABC Radio network and lasted until Mr. Harvey’s death in 2009.
