RIPON, Wis (WRPN)- A 53-year-old Fond du Lac man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison and 10 years of extended supervision for his role in a shooting in Fond du Lac.

Fond du Lac County Judge Tricia Walker Thursday sentenced Luis Guzman-Romero. In January a jury convicted him of 11 counts including first-degree reckless injury.

On October 20th, 2024 Fond du Lac Police and Fire and Rescue responded to the parking lot of Hopper Screen Printing and Embroidery and Fast Taco for a report of a fight.

Officers found a 24-year-old Fond du Lac man in the parking lot with a gunshot wound to his shoulder/arm area. He was taken to St. Agnes Hospital and was subsequently flown to a trauma center.

Police said the fight was over a woman. District Attorney Eric Toney says, “Gun violence will never be tolerated.”
