WAUTOMA, Wis (WAUH)- The length of the State Highway 21 construction project in the City of Omro has been shortened from 39 days to 20 days.
State Department of Transportation officials say Stage 3 is the only portion of the Omro work that will directly impact traffic across the Fox River Bridge. During that stage, one-way westbound traffic will be maintained across the bridge, with eastbound traffic detoured via County K to County E to State Highway 116.
The revised 20-day timeline represents a substantial reduction in the inconvenience to the traveling public and local community. As part of the Stage 3 revisions, work on that stage is now anticipated to begin next Wednesday.
Emergency vehicles will be permitted to cross the bridge in both directions by activating lights and sirens.
All five stages of work within the City of Omro are scheduled for completions by the end of August.
