RIPON, Wis (WRPN)- The Ripon Middle & High School will hold their annual Friendship Day on Wednesday, May 6th at Ingalls Field, with a rain date of May 13th.
This is the 14th year of the event. Organized by the school’s Intellectual Disabilities staff, the event brings together students from across the region for a day of inclusion, celebration, and friendly competition.
Friendship Day is often described as a “Mini Special Olympics,” providing students of all abilities the opportunity to participate in a variety of track and field events while building friendships and school connections.
The event highlights the importance of teamwork, encouragement, and community support. Participating schools include: Berlin, Fond du Lac, Laconia, Markesan, Montello, North Fond du Lac, Oakfield, Omro, Ripon, Waupun, and Winneconne.
The day will begin with a parade and opening ceremonies at 9:45 am, followed by races and activities shortly after. An awards ceremony will start at about 1:45 pm, with the event concluding around 2 pm.
