Former Milwaukee Police Department Officer is Heading to Federal Prison
A former Milwaukee Police Department officer is heading to federal prison after admitting to using his badge to support criminal activity.
Juwon Madlock, 30, has been sentenced to five years in federal prison following a conviction tied to multiple corruption-related offenses. According to federal prosecutors, Madlock used his position as a police officer in Milwaukee to assist members of a local street gang.
Investigators say Madlock provided sensitive and dangerous information, including sharing the home addresses of rival gang members actions that could have led to serious violence. He also admitted to supplying ammunition to a convicted felon and helping conceal stolen vehicles.
In addition, prosecutors say Madlock lied to federal agents during the investigation, further compounding the severity of his actions.
Federal officials described the case as a significant breach of public trust, emphasizing that Madlock didn’t just fail in his duties he actively worked against them. By using law enforcement tools and access to benefit criminal activity, authorities say he put the community at risk.
Madlock will also serve three years of supervised release following his prison sentence.
The case underscores ongoing concerns around police accountability and highlights the serious consequences when those entrusted to protect the public instead abuse their power.
