Southwest Wisconsin Technical College will host Wisconsin Technical College System Agriculture Day on Tuesday, March 24, bringing students, educators, industry professionals and community leaders together to highlight the future of Wisconsin agriculture. Randy Romanski, Wisconsin Secretary of Agriculture, is one of the scheduled speakers for the event.

WTCS Ag Day is an annual statewide event that rotates among Wisconsin’s 16 technical colleges. Southwest Tech was selected as the host site for 2026 and will welcome attendees to campus for a full day of hands-on demonstrations, interactive exhibits and conversations focused on agricultural education, innovation and workforce needs.

The event coincides with National Ag Day and will begin with opening remarks from state and WTCS leaders, followed by a special presentation from Alice in Dairyland. Attendees will then be invited to explore a series of agriculture-related showcases, featuring six to eight demonstrations highlighting ag technology, safety and equipment. Planned exhibits include a mobile meat processing unit from Madison College, agricultural equipment displays and grain bin rescue training. The showcases will be located in the Ag/Auto building.

Midday programming will include a panel discussion, over lunch, featuring students, alumni, local business leaders, and educators. The panel will focus on the future of agriculture, with an emphasis on Wisconsin’s evolving agricultural landscape and workforce demands. Lunch will be provided by Southwest Tech’s Artisanal Modern Meat Butchery program, giving attendees an opportunity to taste the program in action.

WTCS Ag Day is free to attend and open to the public, though registration is encouraged.
