RIPON, Wis (WRPN)- Ripon City Alderman Doug Iverson is hoping voters will put him back on the Common Council in April.

He has represented District 4 on the Council for much of the past 10 years. He also serves on the Library Board and the Ripon Area Fire District Board.

Iverson says while some question why the city needs a wheel tax it is a way to raise about $150,000 a year for road repairs without going to property owners for the money. He believes the city has made progress and isn’t spending money recklessly.

Iverson also points to the new Public Works Building going up, the Library Renovation, and development of 15 acres of land south of Sandmar for housing and a new well site as some of that progress.

Iverson is being challenged for the district 4 seat by former Berlin Common Council member Luke Dretske.
