Free-fishing weekend over January 18-19

Outdoor enthusiasts, or people just wanting to try ice fishing can do so over the weekend of January 18-19 as the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is allowing people to partake in the sport without the need to purchase a license for the two days.

Big limits, size limits, and restrictions based off of caught species are still enforced.

A regular fishing license is $20, while anyone over the age of 65, it costs $7, while a junior (16-17) is also $7.

Wisconsin has had a free-fishing weekend since 1994, which is normally held in June, while it began for ice-fishing in 2012.
