STODDARD, Wis. (WQRCO / WRCE) – The Coon Creek Community Watershed Council (CCCWC) is celebrating its fourth anniversary this fall.

The CCCWC recognizes the 92nd anniversary of the nation’s first watershed conservation project as well, which was centered in the Coon Creek Watershed. The CCCWC understands watershed literacy as an awareness for the complex ways water connects people and places.

The local conservation nonprofit will mark the occasion at its Wednesday, Sept. 3 meeting, which the Lindahl Family is hosting at their farm in Stoddard. The night will include live music, a community dinner, the 2025 State of the Watershed address, remarks from the Lindahl family and Vernon County conservation partners, and a tour of the Lindahl family’s newly completed erosion control structures.

The Sept. 3 gathering will begin with appetizers, drinks, and music at 5:30 p.m., followed by the State of the Watershed address and other speakers at 6 p.m., and will close with dinner at 7 p.m. Lindahls’ Swiss Hills is located at E Hamburg Ridge Rd. in Stoddard. Guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and picnicware. The event is free, and all are welcome.
