Governor Evers Visits Markesan
RIPON, Wis (WRPN)- Governor Tony Evers and Department of Administration Secretary Kathy Blumenfield visited Markesan Wednesday to discuss Community Development Block Grant Funding for Street Projects.

They met with officials from the City of Markesan and Villages of Clyman, Iron Ridge, and Lomira. Each of those communities are being awarded $1 million or slightly less than that for infrastructure improvements including streets, water and sewer, utilities, and more.
The Governor’s visit had a dual purpose. He has been traveling the state to also talk about how President Trump’s proposed 2026 federal budget cuts could eliminate such funding for Wisconsin.
Over $18.6 million in CDBG funding is supporting community improvements in 21 communities across the state including Markesan, Clyman, Iron Ridge, and Lomira.
