RIPON, Wis (WRPN)- An Extreme Heat Watch will be in affect from 10 am Wednesday morning through 7 pm Thursday evening.

According to the National Weather Service some of the counties included in the watch are; Columbia, Dodge, Fond du Lac, Green Lake, Marquette, and Sheboygan.

Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 106 degrees Fahrenheit are possible. Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events.

Precautions include drinking plenty of fluids, staying in an air-conditioned room, staying out of the sun, and checking up on relatives and neighbors.

Children and pets should not be left in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
