
75 year old Platteville woman dies in traffic crash
Deputies responded and located a one vehicle crash. It was discovered Linda Bottomley, 75 of Platteville, was traveling Westbound when her vehicle crossed the center line and left the roadway.
GRANT COUNTY, Wis (WRCO / WRCE) – Grant County suffered its fifth motor vehicle fatality of 2025 over the weekend.
On Saturday night, July 19 at approximately 7:52, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a crash detection notification from an iPhone, in the area of Baker Ford Road and Whig Road.
Deputies responded and located a one vehicle crash. It was discovered Linda Bottomley, 75 of Platteville, was traveling westbound when her vehicle crossed the center line and left the roadway. The vehicle continued into the ditch and crossed a creek before coming to a stop. Bottomley was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident and suffered injuries to her upper body as a result.
Linda Bottomley was transported to Southwest Health Center by Southwest Health EMS, where she died. According to the Grant County Coroner, Bottomley suffered a medical incident which likely caused the crash.
The Grant County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Southwest Health EMS, and Platteville Fire Department.
