MADISON, Wis (CIVIC MEDIA) – Wisconsin’s House delegation was split along party lines in voting for President Trump’s sweeping “Big Beautiful Bill” package, which promises radical reform to social programs, as well as tax cuts and increased immigration spending.

Read Civic Media’s initial coverage of Pres. Trump’s bill for additional information.

State representatives had much to say following the House’s narrow passing of the bill last Thursday, May 22.

2nd District Democratic Representative Mark Pocan:

FACT: Under the Big Beautiful Bill for Billionaires that the @HouseGOP passed, the poor will get poorer and the rich will get richer. pic.twitter.com/bfb1iNO7SV

4th District Democratic Representative Gwen Moore:

Republicans are putting another $5 trillion on the national credit card to pay for tax giveaways to billionaires, while also ripping away health care and food assistance from millions of Americans, including children, seniors and veterans. pic.twitter.com/Ig0Gld1a5d

— Rep. Gwen Moore (@RepGwenMoore) May 23, 2025

5th District Republican Representative Scott Fitzgerald:

By passing the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, we're delivering on the promises made to the American people to bring tax relief, reduce government waste, and secure our border. This puts President Trump’s America First agenda where it belongs—front and center! 🇺🇸

— Rep. Scott Fitzgerald (@RepFitzgerald) May 22, 2025

6th District Republican Representative Glenn Grothman:

The One Big, Beautiful Bill Act is set to prevent the largest tax hike in American history.

I’m fighting to ensure #WI06 families, small businesses & manufacturers keep more of what they earn. These tax cuts work—@HouseGOP just voted to extend them and protect your paycheck. pic.twitter.com/l0Ir50JhFx

— Rep. Glenn Grothman (@RepGrothman) May 22, 2025

7th District Republican Representative Thomas Tiffany:

This reconciliation bill is a promise kept to the American people: more money in your pocket, secure borders, lower energy costs, no tax on tips or overtime, and roots out fraud.

To keep the momentum, the House must codify EOs and pass spending cuts next.

Let’s keep delivering.

— Rep. Tom Tiffany (@RepTiffany) May 22, 2025

8th District Republican Representative Tony Wied:

The American people want low taxes.
⁰They want to eliminate waste and abuse in our government.
⁰They want us to unleash American energy.
⁰They want a secure border.

Our Big Beautiful Bill delivers all of that and we owe it to the American people to get it passed.
