MADISON, Wis (CIVIC MEDIA) – The House of Representatives passed President Trump’s reconciliation bill by a narrow 215-214 margin Thursday. Wisconsin’s House delegation was split along party lines, with Republicans favoring the package and Democrats voting against it.

The bill, titled “One Big Beautiful Bill”, promises sweeping tax cuts, immigration spending, and Medicaid reform, among other items.

Wisconsin representatives on both sides of the aisle voiced their thoughts on Pres. Trump’s proposal.

2nd District Democratic Representative Mark Pocan:

While most Americans were asleep, House Republicans voted to rip healthcare away from 13.7 million people & take food away from hungry people—all to give a tax break to their billionaire buddies, like Donald Trump & Elon Musk. This fight is just beginning. I hope the Senate sees…

6th District Republican Representative Glenn Grothman:

The One Big, Beautiful Bill Act is set to prevent the largest tax hike in American history.

I’m fighting to ensure #WI06 families, small businesses & manufacturers keep more of what they earn. These tax cuts work—@HouseGOP just voted to extend them and protect your paycheck. pic.twitter.com/l0Ir50JhFx

With the House’s approval of the bill, it will now go to the Senate floor for a final vetting process.
