MADISON, Wis. (Civic Media) — 9to5 Wisconsin, an organization that says they’re advocating for working families, has announced a series of candidate forums ahead of the upcoming election. The events, locally featuring an 18th District forum, aim to provide a platform for people to engage with candidates on issues affecting working families.

The forums will focus on topics such as paid family and medical leave, affordable childcare, and the future of Wisconsin’s care economy.

Christina Thor, Executive State Director of 9to5 Wisconsin, emphasized the importance of amplifying working families’ voices in political conversations. “These forums will empower our community members to hold candidates accountable and ensure that their needs are prioritized in the legislative agenda,” Thor said.

One of the events is the 18th Assembly District Candidate Forum in Western Milwaukee, scheduled for October 9 at the Hmong American Friendship Association. Confirmed participants include Margaret Arney and Kevin Anderson, vying for the open seat left by Democrat Evan Goyke.  There’s more about the event on the 9to5 Wisconsin website.

The Recombobulation Area and Civic Media’s 2024 Wisconsin State Legislature Voter Guide has the race as a Solid D.  See the guide here.
