Wisconsin DNR Offers $25 Rebate for New Endangered Resources License Plates

MADISON, Wis. (Civic Media) — It’s $25 off in celebration of the 30th.  The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is offering a $25 rebate for new Endangered Resources license plates purchased through Dec. 31, 2024, to mark the program’s 30th anniversary.

Since 1994, plate sales have funded conservation efforts for over 400 wildlife and 300 plant species listed as endangered, threatened or of special concern. The program also supports the nation’s most extensive system of State Natural Areas.

“The rebate helps more people support rare species and unique places in Wisconsin,” said Drew Feldkirchner, DNR Natural Heritage Conservation Director.

Drivers can purchase new plates or switch designs at any time, even if they’ve already renewed their 2024 registration. The total cost for a new plate this year would be $15 after the rebate.

To obtain the rebate, buyers must complete both the DNR Rebate Form and the WisDOT Endangered Resources License Plate Application Form, available on the DNR website. Processing may take up to six weeks.

The plates feature either a bald eagle or gray wolf design, with proceeds supporting DNR conservation work across the state.
