The 56th Assembly District covers part of Outagamie and Waupaca counties in eastern Wisconsin northwest of Appleton and west of Green Bay.
By Jimmie Kaska, Civic Media StaffWISCONSIN (Civic Media) – Incumbent Republican David Murphy has been called the winner of the race for the 56th Assembly District in Wisconsin.
The Associated Press made the call Tuesday evening.
The Republican Party was favored in this district going into the election, according to CNalysis. The district was considered solid Republican with a projected margin of 26 points.
Murphy, who was first elected to the Assembly in 2012, is a member of five committees. He is the Chair of the Committee on Colleges and Universities. Murphy is a full-time legislator.
Murphy defeated Democratic challenger Emily Tseffos, who describes herself as a former educator and community advocate.
