Republican Tyler August wins 31st Assembly District

The 31st Assembly District covers parts of Walworth and Rock counties in southeastern Wisconsin.

WISCONSIN (Civic Media) – Incumbent Republican Tyler August has been called the winner of the race for the 31st Assembly District in Wisconsin.

The Associated Press made the call Tuesday evening.

The Republican Party was favored in this district going into the election, according to CNalysis. The district was considered very likely Republican with a projected margin of 20 points.

August is one of the leaders in the Republican caucus in the Assembly as the Majority Leader. He was drawn out of the 32nd District and was first elected to the Assembly in 2010. August, a full-time legislator, serves on five joint committees, three Assembly committees, and the Law Revision Committee.

August defeated Democratic challenger John Henderson, a business owner in Walworth County who promoted collaboration and positive leadership on his campaign materials.
