Weinbrenner Shoe Company Expands in Marshfield

Wisconsin Rapids, WI (WFHR, WIRI)

Weinbrenner shoe company and Ellis Construction broke ground for a new, state of the art manufacturing facility in Marshfield on September 30th. This 14.5 million dollar plant will be located in the Mill Creek Business park and is expected to open late 2025.
Ellis Construction, Stevens Point, designed the new, 70,000 square foot facility with a focus on employee health and productivity. The production floor is being modernized to utilize equipment with safety and technology upgrades. The current Weinbrenner building will be repurposed by the city for undetermined future use.
Weinbrenner reaffirmed it’s committment to union labor by working with Ellis Constuction to select union partners wherever available. This has resulted in nearly 80% of contracts being awarded to unionized contractors.
The new facility is expected to add 35 new jobs, bringing the workforce total to 120.
Weinbrenner shoe, founded in 1892 is one of the oldest shoe companies still manufacturing in the United States and supports over 150 jobs in Marshfield.
