MILWAUKEE, Wis (Civic Media) — A town hall featuring Trump campaign surrogates is tonight in Milwaukee, with a counter-protest planned in response.
The campaign event, part of the Agenda 47 Policy Tour, will take place at 7 p.m. at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s Jan Serr Studio.
The counter rally, titled “Protest the Dangerous Project 2025: Stop the War on Women and Workers’ Rights,” is scheduled for 6 p.m. at UWM Kenilworth Square. That’s being organized by Working Families Power, an affiliate of Wisconsin’s Working Families Party.
The counter-protest organizers claim Project 2025, a conservative blueprint created by the Heritage Foundation, poses a threat to women’s and workers’ rights.
Republican U.S. Rep. Bryan Steil, former GOP Gov. Tommy Thompson, and ex-Trump administration official Monica Crowley are scheduled to attend the Trump event. North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, once considered a potential Trump running mate, is also expected to participate.
The town hall aims to focus on issues relevant to southeastern Wisconsin’s 1st Congressional District, which Steil has represented since 2019.
