Gov. Evers signs 15 bills into law, including expansion of Clean Water Fund Program
Many of the bills signed into law Thursday clear up state statute language on everything from hunting and fishing to election operations and environmental issues.
MADISON, Wis. (CIVIC MEDIA) – Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers signed 15 bills into law on Thursday.
The announcement was made by the Department of Administration in a release.
Among the new laws is Wisconsin Act 106, formerly Senate Bill 99, which expands the Clean Water Fund Program.
“I’m proud to be signing a bill today that will expand the Clean Water Fund Program, helping ensure communities across the state have the resources they need to bolster their infrastructure and replace and modernize aging systems,” Evers said.
The new law expands the criteria that municipalities can use to help secure funding for water quality improvement projects.
Other bills passed include changes to waste handling, environmental, and hunting and fishing rules, as well as election operations.
Here is a rundown of the other bills signed into law on Thursday:
- Wisconsin Act 107 (formerly Senate Bill 624) adds an option for establishing proof of financial responsibility for municipal solid waste facilities
- Wisconsin Act 108 (formerly Senate Bill 866) makes changes to the state’s electronic waste recycling program
- Wisconsin Act 109 (formerly Senate Bill 34) sets the date for the DNR’s Free Fish weekend in January to the first full weekend before the third Monday
- Wisconsin Act 110 (formerly Senate Bill 136) increases the cap on county snowmobile trail maintenance and the rate of supplemental aid per trail mile from $900 to $1,500
- Wisconsin Act 111 (formerly Senate Bill 255) creates regulations to try to retain public access to wetlands under certain programs
- Wisconsin Act 112 (formerly Senate Bill 411) will allow anglers to transport game fish that have been cleaned and dressed if they can provide a photo showing the fish and its length
- Wisconsin Act 113 (formerly Senate Bill 415) changes the date of annual vehicle admission passes expiring from the end of the calendar year to the end of the 12th month from when they were issued, effective Jan. 1, 2025
- Wisconsin Act 114 (formerly Senate Bill 310) adds state-issued I.D. cards as eligible documents to prove state residency for DNR licensing
- Wisconsin Act 115 (formerly Senate Bill 586) permits the use of airguns during firearm hunting seasons
- Wisconsin Act 116 (formerly Senate Bill 587) updates and clarifies the definition of muzzle-lading firearms in statute
- Wisconsin Act 117 (formerly Senate Bill 744) changes the tuition grant program for the National Guard by providing up-front payments instead of reimbursements
- Wisconsin Act 118 (formerly Senate Bill 381) amends part of the pre-adoption training requirements
- Wisconsin Act 119 (formerly Senate Bill 520) further defines who can be designated as kinship caregivers
- Wisconsin Act 120 (formerly Senate Bill 741) amends several statutes dealing with state elections processes based on recommendations from the Wisconsin Elections Commission
