
Make Music Madison 2023: 400+ Artists, 165 Locations, Lots of Live Music
Hundreds of artists perform throughout the city to celebrate the Summer Solstice, including right in front of Civic Media's HQ.
Madison, Wis. (WMDX) – Yesterday marked the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year. It also marked the day in which musicians from all over the world come together to perform live in cities throughout the globe. Make Music Day coordinates worldwide promotion of the yearly event. Make Music Madison, the local chapter, takes care of promoting the event in the capital city.
According to the Make Music Madison website, 404 artists signed up to perform this year in 165 locations. Quite impressive in a city of about 270,000 people! WMDX 92.7 hosted a stage in front of Civic Media’s headquarters. Three friends of the station stopped by to perform and pay their homage to the solstice. Eddy Birth, who also performed live in the Devil’s Lair over the weekend, along with local favorites Sunspot and Dana Perry.
