For the common welfare or not? (Hour 2)
We carry over conversation from last hour on the tragic and preventable death of Cole Schmidtknecht, a 22-year old man living in Appleton, WI. Cole died of respiratory distress after being unable to afford an inhaler that his insurance ceased covering. In a lawsuit his family is filing against Walgreens and OptumRX, a subsidiary of United Healthcare, they claim Cole was provided neither proper notification of the change in coverage nor provision of an alternative. This is the world of dollars over doctors, cents over sense, and profit over patients. It's shameful, it's wrong, and it doesn't have to be like this. Our nation, founded to promote the general welfare, can be so much better. We talk with callers throughout the hour who have experienced the worst our healthcare system offers and who know we can turn this around.
We end the hour chatting with Mike Clemens, Civic Media sports reporter, on basketball trading and Superbowl predictions.

Dom and Earl discuss, with audience participation, if indeed Evers, who will be 75 when the next election rolls around, should pursue another term.
