At a weekend rally in Las Vegas, Vice President Kamala Harris said she’d work to eliminate taxes on tips for hospitality workers. Former President Donald Trump accused her of copying him. But take this tip: There will be a massive difference between one plan that will also raise the minimum wage and someone else’s plan that will allow hedge fund managers to be paid $1 and claim everything else as a “tip.”

History was made on Friday at the Wisconsin State Capitol with the unveiling of a statue dedicated to Vel Phillips, believed to be the first statue honoring a Black woman outside any state capitol in the United States. It’s a deserving honor for a true Wisconsin trailblazer whose milestones are being remembered as the nation moves toward electing the first Black women president.

From growing up and going to school in Kaukauna, to going to school to become a doctor. She's now running as a candidate for the 8th congressional district. She says that she got inspired to run for office back during the Covid lockdown. When she saw the voters turning out in large numbers and waiting in long lines to exercise their right to vote, she realized she wanted to run and make a difference.

The Right in Retreat (Hour 1)
Press chatter notwithstanding, it was not a great week for the far-right around Wisconsin or around the world. A judge ruled parts of Act 10 are unconstitutional, putting its future in jeopardy. The state Supreme Court reinstated ballot drop boxes and smacked down legislative Republicans for holding up tax dollars for certain programs. Tories were routed in the United Kingdom and voters in France came together to stop its far-right party from taking over government.
