The Best New TV Shows with Tara Ariano (Hour 2)

April 16, 2025

This afternoon, Todd asks us What’s Worse: The Who or Led Zeppelin? We take your calls on these two classic bands.

At the bottom of the hour, we’re happy to welcome Tara Ariano back to the show! She is a prolific television critic known for her previous work on Television Without Pity and current podcast, Extra Hot Great. Today, Tara joins us to talk about some of the best and worst new shows you can watch right now.

Here are some shows recommended by Tara Ariano:

  • The Righteous Gemstones - This comedy follows the misadventures of a traveling televangelist family. The situations have only gotten crazier as they reach the end of the series.
  • The Pitt - Watch medical professionals do their best to make the world a better place. Each episode is essentially a shift at an emergency room in Pittsburgh. CAUTION: This show contains significant gore and is not for the faint of heart.
  • Running Point - Mindy Kaling’s new comedy puts an inexperienced woman in charge of a sports franchise.
  • Going Dutch - A broken family is forced to mend through a new military assignment.
  • Good Cop/Bad Cop - This comedic crime show is great for fans of Psych or CSI.
  • Hacks - This great show about making a show is back for its fourth season!

Parking Tickets and Punchlines (Hour 2)

February 7, 2024

Much like Jim Carrey’s character in Liar Liar, Todd has unpaid parking tickets. Sit back and enjoy as Todd regales us with his tales of Green Bay bureaucracy. He has some great suggestions to make parking easier in the city, and perhaps one day, he will run for mayor.

After that, we move on from traffic violations to sitcom jokes. Tara Ariano of Cracked.com and Extra Hot Great returns to the show to tell us about the 100 best sitcom punchlines. From M*A*S*H to All In the Family, hear some of Todd and Tara’s favorites! You can check out the article at Cracked.com to see the rest of the list.

The Gay Bachelor (Hour 2)

September 20, 2023

After taking your calls on dress codes and decorum, writer Tara Ariano returns to update us on the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Is it okay to watch Dancing With the Stars or Drew Barrymore’s show? Are they scabs?
