The Curious Case for Conversation (Hour 2)

December 3, 2024

Dr Susan Webb Yackee, Director of the La Follette School of Public Affairs and Professor at UW-Madison, joins us for a conversation on overcoming divisiveness. Dom and Jess read Susan's piece in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel last month on civil discourse and it really resonated with us. Susan joins us today to talk about developing critical civil discourse skills. It starts with curiosity and humility.

Dom and Jess wrap the hour with a check in on Trump's New York felony fraud case. Predictably, the President-elect seeks dismissal using the precedent of Joe Biden pardoning his son Hunter. Plus, a new measure of time! No longer is Gaetz the running shortest nominee for Trump, now it's a Chronister (3 days), for Trump's DEA nominee.

Join Dom Salvia every afternoon from 4-6pm for news (some), humor (more), and great conversation (always)! Listen throughout the state of Wisconsin on the Civic Media network and worldwide on the Civic Media app. Call or text to join the fun at 855-752-4842.

Teach The Children Well (Hour 2)

June 24, 2024

The second hour kicks off with a great discussion with Susan Yackee, the Director of the LaFollette School of Public Affairs at UW-Madison regarding young people's increased interest to study public policy and what the school is doing to foster this and better prepare them to go out in the world and affect change. Then Ken Mika from The American Society of Civil Engineers joins to show to talk about sinkholes and the further need to make infrastructure a proactive process. We wrap up the show with a very spicy Greg hearing about the new I-94 project and what we'll have to live with for the next 6 years.

As always, thank you for listening, texting and calling, we couldn't do this without you! Don't forget to download the free Civic Media app and take us wherever you are in the world!
