Addressing the “Root” cause of the Issue (Hour 1)
Robert Miranda of the lead free Coalition FLAC joins us to speak on lead issues. Earl and Robert shine a light on the lead contamination issue in Milwaukee's schools. They express concern that politicians are focusing more on privatization than on ensuring public safety, urging the community to take action. They criticize GOP attempts to privatize Milwaukee Public Schools, claiming it threatens democratic oversight and does nothing to solve the lead problem. The discussion also touches on the challenges faced by veterans, with a sharp critique of Trump for ignoring their needs while flaunting a tough-guy image. As Trump suggests budget cuts, veterans are left to suffer, sparking anger over the ongoing neglect. This episode highlights the urgent need for real support and accountability in both public health and veteran services.

Trying to get a connection- lead free water. (Hour 1)
The group advocating for lead-free clean water, which includes Robert Miranda from FLAC, Paul Schwartz, and Dr. Kristen Payne, will be updating us on the ongoing lead issues. It seems that the City of Milwaukee is having difficulty tackling this issue, with Robert Miranda claiming that the city must take full responsibility for finding a solution, even as it often deflects accountability onto property owners. Dr. Payne highlights seven violations that state law requires to be addressed, along with the obligation to keep parents informed about developments. Approximately fifty thousand children are currently impacted by lead-related problems in our schools, with many more affected in the past and potentially until the situation is resolved. Dr. Kristen Payne expresses her skepticism regarding the new superintendent, who mentioned seeking "easy wins" through listening sessions. "Our focus is on substantial change, and we won't be misled by mere listening sessions," she asserts. Robert Miranda says, Evers budget is a good place to direct folks to act no matter where in WI they live mentioning the 300 million dollar budget.

Is your water clean or dirty? (Hour 1)
Earl Ingram is joined by Robert Miranda of FLAC and Paul Schwartz from the Get the Lead Out Coalition in their initiative advocating for lead-free water. They will address a range of topics concerning the prevention of lead contamination in our public drinking water systems. Parents often cannot identify lead paint in residences, and upon relocating to new homes, they may come across these hazardous substances within the walls and paint. Paul emphasizes the critical importance of public education in this matter. Even if MPS, MPH, and MWW are taking all the necessary precautions, it is essential for the community to understand the importance of prioritizing filtration.

Filter our water not our voices! (Hour 1)
The Coalition for Lead-Free Water is meeting with Earl to address the ongoing lead contamination issues impacting the water supply in schools and communities where our children reside. Robert Miranda, Paul Schwartz, and Dr. Yonna Lambrinidou provide the latest updates on lead testing conducted at many educational institutions, emphasizing Governor Evers' comments on the situation. Earlier this week, the state was anticipated to release crucial documents outlining the detrimental effects of lead-contaminated drinking water on our children's health. Lead exposure presents significant risks, associated with a range of health problems, both minor and severe. Families already facing financial difficulties are struggling to maintain stable housing, and now they must also navigate the challenge of ensuring access to safe drinking and bathing water.

Updates to the lead issues at M.P.S and in our homes (Hour 1)
The Coalition for Lead-Free Water reunites with Earl to jump into the persistent lead problems affecting the water supply in our children's schools and communities. Dr. Payne shares the latest updates on lead testing conducted in two schools, mentioning that the state is set to release the relevant documents this week. A viewer inquires how millions can reside in homes without lead laterals and yet not experience health issues, even with annual check-ups. The response highlights that lead can still impact the immune system and manifest differently in individuals. Dr. Kristen Payne is actively rallying the community to access vital information and resources to confront and resolve the challenges posed by lead poisoning. We should talk about abolishing the 3Ts (test & chase) with Filter First at all taps used for cooking and drinking with regular post filtration testing that is posted publicly!

Allowing “lead” to lead in harming our children (Hour 1)
Earl warmly welcomes Robert Miranda and his colleague Derek Beyer from the "Get the Lead Out Coalition" to participate in a dialogue concerning contemporary governmental issues. He highlights the concern regarding the wealthy elite misappropriating taxpayer resources by cutting vital programs that contribute to societal advancement and development. Derek Beyer brings attention to the alarming levels of lead found in drinking fountains at schools, emphasizing the urgent need for filter installations to guarantee safe drinking water for the students he has taught and cared for during his time at Milwaukee Public Schools. They also address comments from a texter who appears to lack awareness of lead poisoning and its impact on affected individuals.

Kids Deserve Safe Water (Hour 1)
In this episode, Earl Ingram hosts a panel from the "Get the Lead Out Coalition," featuring Robert Miranda, Dr. Yanna Lambrini, Paul Schwartz, and Kristen Payne. They discuss the issue of lead contamination in the drinking water at Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS), specifically highlighting schools like Golda Meir and Kagel. The guests criticize the MPS lead safety program, which only conducts annual inspections, claiming it is virtually ineffective and does not align with research findings. They reveal that lead levels at the Golda Meir Campus exceed the normal threshold by 20%, and point out that a staggering 85% of MPS schools built in earlier years are experiencing similar lead problems. MPS has a 1.4 million dollar budget and has no excuse to not address and fix the problem, especially when it pertains to the children all over Wisconsin.
