LuAnn Bird
Weekly Best of Dom Salvia Show for Mar 8
Catch up on this week's best segments!
First, from Wednesday's second hour with Matt Rothschild. Our president delivered an address to a joint session of Congress. We have thoughts...
Next, we turn to Tuesday's second hour as Jess guest hosted with Harvey Kaye. The real conflict in this country has never been Democrat vs. Republican. It's oligarch "economic royalists" vs. the rest of us.
Then, from Thursday's second hour with Earl Ingram as cohost with Dom. As we discuss the devastating cuts to veterans' benefits and care, friend of the network LuAnn Bird calls to share her and her husband's story. Then, should Rep. Al Green have been censured for his simple defiance during the 47th POTUS' address to Congress? Probably not. So we listen to his powerful remarks.
And of course, we finish with something good. This also comes from Wednesday's second hour, as Matt shares a gorgeous poem.
Bird Battles Budget Basher (Hour 2)
Only someone with a personal worth of $40 billion would think that wasteful government spending is how you’d label healthcare for veterans, cancer research, humanitarian aid, and preserving our national parks. Our guest, LuAnn Bird, has been battling the people who are bashing the budget programs that take care of fellow Americans. We’ll also catch up with filmmaker Mary Mazzio whose documentary about the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa fighting against a big company’s oil pipeline continues to be sought out for screenings around the country.

In a second term, he'll do it again. Don't let it happen. Check your voter registration status, find your polling place, make a plan, and vote.
LuAnn Bird, former Civic Media host and current candidate for Wisconsin's 61st Assembly District, joins Dom at the bottom of the hour. LuAnn advocates for us all to get involved in our local politics, no matter our age or prior experience!
