How Much to Buy Your Name Back? (Hour 1)
The news story is like a scene out of “Tommy Boy,” where Ray Zalinsky was going to shut down Big Tom Callahan’s factory in Sandusky and slap his trusted name on Zalinsky’s brake pads. But this time, it’s Chippewa Falls and Molson Coors wanting to keep the Leinenkugel name—even as the family tries to buy back the brewery before it can be shut down. Also: Sen. Ron Johnson doesn’t miss an opportunity to play politics with a natural disaster. And Sen. Tammy Baldwin secures a win for women, ensuring a national monument to the Suffragettes will be built on the National Mall.

He Won’t Back Down (Hour 1)
Give Gov. Tony Evers some credit. Where other governors facing such a hostile legislature might have given up, Wisconsin’s top Democrat is going right to the voters on the subject of getting popular issues passed into law by going around Republicans who’d rather focus on making it harder to vote and easier for millionaires to pay less in taxes. Joe Zepecki has his take on this week’s state political news.

Reverse Engineering (Hour 1)
The new Engineering Building at the UW-Madison campus has long been a goal of Republicans, Democrats, and the business community—until GOP lawmakers started playing politics with the project in order to fight some imaginary culture war battle. Now delayed, the building is running over budget and some UW folks want to skim some funds away from a new Science Building at UW-Eau Claire. Also: Are we really facing a government shutdown ahead of the holiday break? Thank Elon Musk and Donald Trump for the latest round of congressional chaos.

Same Old Playbook from Boss Vos (Hour 1)
Assembly Speaker Robin Vos is betting that even with a much smaller majority he can run the same playbook of obstructing what Wisconsinites want from state government. Political strategist Joe Zepecki says that dog might not hunt anymore, since fairer maps mean there will be Republican lawmakers who actually have to show folks back home that they did… something.

Let’s Get Into It (Hour 1)
There are concerns that the recent court ruling overturning Act 10 means that next year’s Wisconsin Supreme Court race will have an outsized focus on a law from 13 years ago. Political strategist Joe Zepecki says we may as well get into it, since one of the candidates for justice was part of the original challenge to Act 10 anyway—and it’s not a bad thing to focus on protecting workers’ rights. Also: A friend of the show writes a column about President Biden’s pardon of his son Hunter and how it gives us all a lesson in the power of grace to help others struggling with addiction.

The Mood Matters (Hour 2)
Democratic political advisor and strategist Joe Zepecki joins Dom and Earl for a half hour digging into what the hell happened. Was it an uninformed public? A lack of focus on the reality of people feeling left behind by the economy? What about the mood that the Harris-Walz ticket embraced? Was their joy just too out of touch in a change era? And what in the name of Democracy do we do now?
Well, we get involved. Be part of the civic discourse. Engage, ask questions, share your opinions with your elected officials. Hold them accountable for representing YOU.

Garbage In, Garbage Out (Hour 1)
It’s been 13,197 days since Michael Dukakis turned a photo-op into the most disastrous “self-own” of presidential campaigns. Dukakis turns 91 this weekend and is finally feeling redeemed after Donald Trump’s garbage truck ride around the tarmac at the airport in Green Bay on Wednesday. Plus: Vice President Harris hits hard on the unity theme in Madison.
