Dora Drake
Decoding Corruption and Empowering Women
Maggie dives into the depths of political corruption. She begins today's show by focusing on Donald Trump's administration, painting it as the most corrupt in modern history. From pay-to-play schemes involving billionaires like Elon Musk to the axing of inspectors general, Maggie exposes all (so so many) the unethical practices. Plus, Dr. Kristin Lyerly and State Senator Dora Drake join Maggie for "Broad Appeal." Sen. Drake shares her inspiring journey from social work to politics, driven by a passion for justice and community empowerment. Sen. Drake highlights the critical need for women in politics, emphasizing lived experiences and community needs. The women also call for improved messaging to bridge political divides.

Civic Media Spotlight for February 22nd & 23rd (Hour 1)
The hour kicks off when the Earl Ingram Show is joined by Professor Bob Harvey for a history lesson, educating the show on the slave trade, religious freedoms and touches the hearts of callers and texters.
Then, Northeastern Wisconsin based Rock/ Rap musician Matt Harper joins Nite Lite with Pete Schwaba. Pete and Matt talk about the Kendrick Lamar Super Bowl Half Time Show, the Rock/ Rap Combo, and Matt performs songs in-studio.
After that, there was a little bit of Black History Month history made in Wisconsin this week. For seven years, Republicans have obstructed a clean Black History Month resolution from the Legislative Black Caucus. This year, it passed the Assembly on a unanimous voice vote. UpNorthNews asks the caucus chair and vice chair, Sen. Dora Drake and Rep. Sequanna Taylor, about the small victory, the ongoing fights to take real action on areas where communities of color still face broad disparities, and how the next state budget can help or hurt their cause.
Finally, the Dom Salvia Show likes to end each day with something good. Dom, Jess, and any guests must each share something either happy or simply good that we've experienced recently. Thursday, with Jim Santelle, we got a lot of good. From happy news on our text line to good acts we can do and the power of art, this is a great short segment!

A Black History Moment of Unity (Hour 2)
Take away all of the political rhetoric and the partisan posturing—and just consider the things Gov. Tony Evers is proposing in his state budget that would improve schools, clean water, healthcare, and tax relief. Now match that list against what Republicans in the Legislature are saying and you’ll get a firm idea of the difference between workhorses and show ponies. We’ll talk to Joe Zepecki about the substance of a responsible state budget.
