Elon Musk’s Wisconsin Power Play: A Referendum on Democracy
Guest host Dan Shafer recombobulates a busy Wisconsin day with Brewers' home opener and spring elections looming. The episode dives into the contentious Wisconsin Supreme Court race, now a national spectacle with Elon Musk's exorbitant campaign spending. Musk's motives, deemed a threat to democracy by many, signal a battle not just for Wisconsin, but for the nation's political soul. Schaefer discusses the partisan roots of voter ID laws with Todd Allbaugh, revealing the GOP's historical push for voter suppression. Ben Wikler of the Democratic Party emphasizes the race's stakes, urging voters to reject Musk's influence and protect democracy.

What Candidate Do You Want?
Hour two begins with some usual banter as the guys do the show remotely from Gordy's house today. The pair talk tariffs, and dive into a story from a non-American, Simon Marks, giving his take on the current state of American "democracy," or the lack thereof. We check in with our WMDX Meteorologist Brittney Merlot for a look at the weather, and also talk with a caller, explaining Canada's next move in the trade war: blocking US access to Pornhub. Later, Ben Wikler, chair of the Wisconsin Democratic Party, joins the show, chatting with the guys about the final days of the race for Wisconsin Supreme Court between Brad Schimel and Susan Crawford, as well as what you can do to help. Closing out the show for today, Gordy's neighbor makes a surprise appearance in his house, with gifts for the guys!

Money Changes Everything
Tom Palzewicz, the most reasonable guy in politics, is back today as Maggie's co-host. Maggie and Tom discuss the lawlessness of the Trump administration. Who enforces these court orders that Trump is ignoring? And what is the point of all of these blatantly unconstitutional actions? The fear. And law firms, lawyers, journalists, media companies, governments, non profits are capitulating. Next, they are joined by Ben Wickler, Chair of Wisconsim Democratic Party, to discuss Elon Musk's desire to own the Wisconsin Supreme Court and Schimel's eagerness to bend the knee. Maggie explains why Schimel would never pass a bar exam.

Are We Great Yet?
Head of WisDems, Ben Wikler, joins the Revolution this week to discuss the state of all things political! Ben gives thoughtful insight on his recent run for DNC Chair, and opens up about uncertainty over his own future.

They touch on what is at stake in the State Supreme Court race, and how that race can tip the balance of power for the House of Representatives in 2026. Ben and Mark also discuss the races for State Superintendent, and how damaging vouchers have been for public education in Wisconsin.
We don’t need to have as much money as them to defeat them.
Ben Wikler
Mark then wraps up with a powerful question: Are we great yet?
We've abandoned our best friends. Insulted our closest allies. We've negotiated with tyrants over victims. Told sovereign nations to give up their own land. We've broken up ironclad unions of nations. Destabilized the fragile network of order. All in just over a month.

Next we welcome Ben Wikler, Chair of the Wisconsin Democratic Party to the show to talk about what we need to do stayed fired up for the election on April 1! Civic Media Spotlight for Weekend of December 7th, 2024 (Hour 1)
Kicking off this hour, the Earl Ingram Show is joined by Wisconsin's own Ben Wikler to discuss his bid for Chairman of the National Democratic party and the reasons he believes the Democrats did not see the results they wanted in November.
Then on UpNorthNews Radio, Ron ‘Duff’ Martin, an Eau Claire teacher who serves on the executive board of the National Education Association, talked about how this week’s overturning of Act 10 by a court can play a role in improving public education in Wisconsin. There will still be appeals of the ruling that strikes down former Gov. Scott Walker’s signature law that gutted public employee unions in the state in 2011, but Martin said if the final outcome is the reinstatement of collective bargaining rights, then unions will be able to negotiate working conditions that will help retain teachers and address worsening shortages, especially in rural districts.
On Matenaer On Air this week, former assembly candidate and county party volunteer Emily Tseffos joined the show to discuss what the Democrats need to do post election and the conversations that need to be had. She also speaks about the conversations that need to be had between voters and what keeps us connected and not divided. Emily also speaks about what needs to happen on the county party level with regard to long range planning for future elections.
The hour wraps with a segment from the Maggie Daun Show, where Maggie shares her takes on the news of the week that a county judge has ruled certain portions of the 2011 Act 10 unconstitutional and what is likely to come next in the battle to return collective bargaining rights back to public sector unions.

Have Hope! (Hour 1)
We are NEARLY there! Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Ben Wikler joins us for a pre-election check-in. Early voting numbers look great- around the country over 75 million people have already fulfilled their civic obligation. In Wisconsin, polling places report double-digit percentages of people who registered and then voted. People are engaged, and the American voters are ready to Turn. The. Page.
On that note, we are optimistic- perhaps nauseously so- of Harris' victory tomorrow. Dom predicts a 10-point popular vote swamping of Trump. Producer Jess carries more anxiety about it, but what we're hearing sounds really good.
For a one-stop shop to check your voter registration, find your polling location, and practice voting with a sample ballot, go to myvote.wi.gov. Make a plan to vote and fulfill your CIVIC duty!
Join Dom Salvia every afternoon from 4-6pm for news (some), humor (more), and great conversation (always)! Listen throughout the state of Wisconsin on the Civic Media network and worldwide on the Civic Media app. Call or text to join the fun at 855-752-4842.
