I am filled me with a look at sports. Lancaster overcame a challenge from River Valley and area
girls basketball last night. The arrows prevailed 69 53. It is Southwest Conference game.
The visitors never trailed and jumped out to a 21 3 lead. The Black Hawks overcame a rocky start
and got within six points before half time before Lancaster led 31 22 at the break.
The arrows built double digit leads in the second half. River Valley would again pull
it within six points but could get no closer. Lancaster is still unbeaten in the conference
and improved at 20 and won overall. River Valley was led and scoring by sophomore Brooklyn White
who had a strong night with 22 points. Brooklyn Stokes added 16. Ella Meyer scored 9. Elizabeth
Gostomsky and Bella Divini each had 3 points. The Hawks made 6 3 pointers and shot 5 4 11 from
the line. Lancaster was paced by high scoring freshman Lexi Olmsted with 25 points. Addison
Morgan added 13 while Maddie Burr scored 11. The arrows made 6 3 pointers and went 13 4 22 from
the line. River Valley won the JV game 59 12 over Lancaster. Following the 69 53 win,
Lancaster will prepare to play Dodgeville next week. The Black Hawks will play a non-conference
game at New Lisbon on Tuesday evening. Elsewhere in Girl's Pass could ball Platville as a winner
over Richland Center 69 31. It was a win for Ithaca Weston over in Nassita 52 to 30.
Mineral Point bested Riverdale 44 14. Cubicity over Boschabell 69 33. Phenomore 61. Ilegran 37.
Dodgeville beat Prairie Ducine 55 47. River Ridge over Highland 60 to 45.

events this weekend. Here is Bill Twining. A busy weekend of wrestling kicks off tonight
at basketball where girls wrestling teams from the SWAL, the SWC, the Region Valley,
and the scenic Bluffs conferences meet in the third annual Area Girls Wrestling Clash.
Kickapoo LaFarge Youth Initiative won last year's girls clash in a five-team race that saw
the top teams separated by less than 15 points. Lancaster was runner up to the predators a year ago
while Prairie D'Shean, Mineral Point and Richland Center rounded out to top five.
There are a total of eight returning individual champions led by eventual state runner-up
and recent bicep classic champion, Gilea Collins of Mineral Point.
Other girls looking for repeat titles tonight at the Clash are Emily Heismar and Tatum James
of Mineral Point, Rosalie Cossman and Aspen Gilo of Prairie D'Shean, JC Davis of Belmont
Placville, Olivia Ball of Lancaster, and Caden's Primiller of Phenomore. Both Richland Center and
Kickapoo LaFarge Youth Initiative have two conference runners-up returning for the Hornets,
Madeline Muller and Caley Spilde, and for the predators Madison Glass and Emerson Miller.
The girls who were in the finals a year ago and finished second include Brielle Walmer of Dodgeville
Tatum Brutos of Bosqueville, Wazika Stuban. Other individuals to watch tonight at the area
girl's wrestling clash are Frankie Grum of North Crawford, Seneca, who placed third in the state
meet a year ago. Brittany Petchy of Prairie D'Shean, who placed third at state two years ago
while wrestling for River Ridge. State qualifiers from last spring, Maria Shaper of Iola Grant Highland,
Peyton Sander of Bosqueville, Wazika Stuban, Sophia Bur of Lancaster, and Dodgeville teammates
Maya Marcline and Jenna Johnson. Richland Center is led by seniors Madison Muller and Caley Spilde,
but also five others who have placed in tournaments throughout the season. Kickapoo LaFarge Youth
Initiative is led by Junior Luca Gross, who placed sixth at the Vice-State Classic. River Valley
has two Vice-State place winners in Rayland Ragsdale and McKenzie Schulting, North Crawford Seneca
boasts the Vice-State runner-up in Idry on the Logue, veteran Gracio Bryan leads New Lisbon,
while area freshmen such as Abby Finley of Mineral Point, Nalani Rodgers of DeSoto,
Rowan Altman of Iowa Grant Highland, and Charlie Bailey of Richland Center all placed at the
Vice-State and looked to do the same at the clash. Tonight's SWAL, SWC, Ridge and Valley,
Senior Bless Conference Girls Wrestling Clash begins at six o'clock at Bosqueville High School,
