A group of Chippewa Valley residents gathered outside the Eau Claire County Republican Party headquarters in Altoona on Saturday to protest a canvassing event with conservative activist Scott Pressler.
Pressler, known for his voter registration work and efforts to find evidence of non-citizens voting, visited the region to canvas with Republican Congressman Derek Van Orden in Wisconsin's 3rd Congressional District.
Cindy Greening, an organizer with Chippewa Valley Indivisible, highlighted the two's participation in the January 6th Stop the Steel rally as the reason they hosted the protest.
We don't think you should be inviting J6 election deniers to the state at this time, especially to Canvas.
And so that's why we came to where they were, because these are folks who showed up for stop the steal.
They spoke there, they organized it, and they tried to take away, overvote, and try to suppress the last election, and we don't want that to happen again.
Pressler helped organize a number of Stop the Steel events and was present at the Capitol on January 6th.
Congressman Van Orden also attended the January 6th Stop the Steel rally, but has maintained that he did not enter any restricted areas or the Capitol building.
Both have continued to share claims of voter fraud in the years since.
Chippewa Valley indivisible organizer Stacy Brem shared her frustration with those election integrity claims at the protest on Saturday.

minimal.
There's been no issues in Wisconsin.
We have a very fair election system and I don't know why people are putting out these rumors and these falsities that there is and we need to stop that because we don't want our vote to be suppressed in any way, shape or form.
A complaint filed by the nonprofit public citizen last month also accused Pressler and his political action committee of violating state campaign finance laws during the 2025 state Supreme Court race in Pennsylvania by not disclosing.
sources of revenue and detailed expenditures as required.
He declined to speak with reporters outside the event after the protest concluded.

The pack pulled it off in overtime to break their sixth game losing streak with a 2017 win over the Jets yesterday.
Despite a scary start to the game, the Packers lost two key players to injuries in back-to-back plays.

The Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa is asking Governor Tony Evers to declare a state disaster following last month's natural gas liquid spill in Iron County.
Line 5 was shut down on August 25th after an unoccupied subcontractor truck rolled into an open excavation site near Saxon and struck the pipeline, releasing about 1.3 million gallons of natural gas liquids.
Enbridge returned the pipeline to service last weekend using a temporary bypass.
However, the Wisconsin
Department of Natural Resources had asked the company to halt construction of the bypass in a letter on September 9th, saying it did not have the required permits.
This bill happened about three miles from the Bad River Reservation.
Chairwoman Liz Arbuckle says the tribe plans to declare it as a disaster and wants the state to do the same.
A number of food banks across the state will receive state grant funding to support their operations for 2027.
According to a press release, $5 million in funding is available through the Food Security and Wisconsin Products Grant Program.
It's the second year of funding through the grant program, which seeks to support nonprofits as the demand for food assistance services increases, as well as the state's agricultural industry by using that funding to purchase food from Wisconsin producers.

Madison police are a step closer to equipping officers with body cameras after years of delay.
Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway's proposed 2027 capital budget includes more than $400,000 to fund the initial purchase of equipment for the force.
Chief John Patterson told Channel 3000 News the technology will boost transparency, noting that Madison has been one of the few departments nationwide without body cams.
The proposal follows a successful 90-day pilot program in the North District.

Matt O'Fleur, you know bull gets caught for a taunting anything directed towards a player from another team even though that was his former teammate the officials don't know what you're saying
You know, when you feel like you was right there in the thick of it, and then you didn't overcome, and you let the other team overcome, and that's something that's tough.
think our mentality of the game was to let it loose, you know, let it fly, and Alino's blocking great, and, you know, receivers Tyrell over here is making great plays.
