Current Secretary of State and Democratic candidate for Lieutenant Governor, Sarah Godlowski met with farmers in Cadot on Thursday.

The visit aimed to highlight plans to expand access to healthcare and address the affordability crisis facing farmers and manufacturers if she and Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley emerge victorious in the November election.

Following a roundtable discussion, Godluski shared her thoughts on the economic struggles farmers across the state have faced over the last couple of years.

Yeah, I mean, my big takeaway is today from Les, who has been a multi-generational farmer here in Western Wisconsin, is that he's really frustrated.

You know, he's working nights, weekends, every day of the week.

And what are politicians like Tom Tiffany doing for him?

Nothing.

And when they had an opportunity to stop these retaliatory tears from happening in Canada back in April as a member of Congress, he said no.

James Kelly

Tariff policy is controlled at the federal level, leaving state officials with limited power to relieve some of those struggles.

Godlowski did, however, share some state-level options that could help reduce some of that additional strain on the agricultural industry in other ways.

I think the big thing is we know if Donald Trump and Tom Tiffany are stopping our farmers from exporting into markets that we know are really important like Canada being our number one partner we have to figure out then how can we make things more readily available here and so we talked about everything from opening up other markets to the work we can do with infrastructure or even like a soybean crusher because that can turn it into materials that then can be also used but that's going to require state investment and I will

you, that's something that David and I are committed to doing and making sure we help our farmers succeed.

James Kelly

Crowley and Godluski will face off with Republican Congressman Tom Tiffany and David Varnum to be the next governor and lieutenant governor of Wisconsin in the November election.

Hi, I'm Mike Clemens with sports in Green Bay where the Packers play their final preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals.

The last chance for players like receiver Will Shepherd to make the team.

Shepherd had six catches for 47 yards and a touchdown last week in Denver.

Can he do it again tonight?

Yeah, definitely just gonna go out there and do my job and where it plays kind of mean.

Make the most of it.

The Rangers in second place in the eighth

a game behind the Astros.

The Brewers, with an 8 to 2 win last night over the Mets in New York, Jacob Mizorowski could have called it a night after five complete innings, but told Pat

Murphy he wanted more.

That's right.

Well, that's what makes Miz special.

He wanted that not ideal conditions.

He could be thinking about other stuff, but he was focused on one thing.

Focus on helping this team.

He knew what it was.

I gave him the option to say, hey man, you OK with top of the order.

Whatever goes, I want it.

That's the Brewers manager.

Pat Murphy with sports.
